I was just looking at Blackburn’s last couple of games. They get 12,000/13,000 crowds. Championship or not do you think the way GA loves football he’d go to that? Soulless.

Look at the way he celebrates goals at VP in front of 19.000/20,000 crowds.

Plus he’d be a head coach not a manager.

If he’s going to go at some point then he’d be better waiting - he’d be a fool to go there.

 

Unfortunately with success comes interest. Doing well is a double edged sword and if we keep this up there’ll be definite interest in the summer. Thats when we need to be worried. If he isn’t backed and given a real chance to get us promoted (should we miss out this time), then I see him being open to offers.

 

Their away following at Swansea was 158. They had a sugar daddy in the 90s that brought them success but they really aren’t a big club anymore. As you say their atmosphere is soulless and they get crowds that would be similar to a MK Dons if they were at that level.

 

He could see it as a stepping stone. Little expectation for the first season or two, and if he gets them up near the top end of the table he gets interest from the bigger clubs in that division. I think he’d see it as a chance to rebuild as he did with us. Hopefully he sees us as unfinished business which we are.

 

Not sure he’d be given a season or two. How many managers have the Venkeys gone through? Without looking I think it’s a fair few. Realistically he’d be gone within 12 months, he won’t be given the tools and that won’t stop him being the fall guy. The fans have hated them owners for donkeys years now.

Not true. Only worry when he is odds on like Parkinson was for the Sheffield United job. The only reason Parkinson didn’t go was they refused to pay the compensation

He'd be foolish to even look at the Blackburn job, sitting where we are in the league and having played many of the teams around us a play off place is certainly within our grasp.

 

I just can’t see him entertaining Blackburn. He appears content where he is. He would be a massive hypocrite if he did go. He was phrasing Lapslie for his loyalty to City and the team the other day. He very rarely gets picked but he works very hard in training and despite interest in him from other clubs he refused to go and wanted to work hard for a place in the team.

For GA to bugger off to Blackburn and leave us right in it would be the epitome of hypocrisy.

Well you like to think players love their job. Yes money is important especially if you have children but it is not the only driver. Completely different world outside of football where you have to graft to earn money and it will be nownear what footballers enjoy.

 

It wouldnt be the end of the world if he went. He’s done a good job of course but he’s made life tougher for himself with stubborn choices at times.

Fans are buoycotting cos of Venky’s aren’t they. They are former PL winners though and ultimately still a bigger club than us with better potential. Like us, they need a new owner though!
