Its been that way since Sunday with a bright spell on Monday.

Non-stop rain all week and grey clouds. Still raining now and not light either.

Sounds like it’s at severe risk otherwise they wouldn’t have called it?

As a recent Premiership club won't they have proper covers?

I would imagine our facilities are actually better.

Very few clubs use covers for rain especially over the full pitch as the negatives outweigh the positives. It's better to let the drainage do it's work and hope the rain isn't too heavy.
The problem with covers for rain is that covers the pitch which isn't good for grass just like the frost covers. Also once the rain goes onto these covers where does the rain go? It either sits on the covers which takes a lot of effort to get off or you have the tent type covers then the rain goes all onto the edges of the pitch which risks overloading the drains and the edge of the pitch gets waterlogged

In case you're wondering, it's not stopped raining since I posted this and is due to rain all night and most of the morning.

Our pitch is absolutely fecked from using covers to try and get the Rotherham game on.

I’m 10 miles or so away and was heavy rain earlier but has since stopped. Forecast doesn’t look too bad, slight chance in the morning, so fingers crossed

If this game does get postponed it's going to create a bit of a fixture pile up for both made worse by Luton being reinstated in the EFL Trophy so their rearranged game against Doncaster on 24th Feb has been postponed again with Doncaster wanting the game on 24th March. If they do they their way it would leave 3rd March as the only realistic date for our match to be rearranged as the next available date after that is 14th April and I don't see that being an option for the EFL as they will want them dates to be kept back in case of more postponements. It would then mean we play 5 Tuesday nights in a row making it a very busy schedule and a lot like last season.

Forecast, for the Luton area, is for it to remain dry until around 08:00 tomorrow, then patchy light rain/drizzle through to kick off.

I'll be setting off at 07:00, but I know what precautionary pitch inspection means nowadays, so I'll have a plan B in place. Might need a plan C as well.

I can see a second, later, pitch inspection as a distinct possibility as well.

Do Luton have a history of match postponed for waterlogged pitches?

Looking on their Twitter they’ve had three home games postponed since Boxing Day 2021, none of them for a waterlogged pitch.

Two for a frozen pitch / snow, and one for COVID cases in the squad.

    Still not optimistic mind
