My view as probably one of the most critical posters on here. They care and that’s not something to be taken for granted and they have done exceptionally well the last 12 months.

However I found so much of the inferred messaging negatives. It just made out we are really really skint, with little to no wiggle room.

    ground - no
    Training - no
£10k per week players - no
transfer fees (1m quoted) - no
    Foreign players - no
    Academy upgrade -no
Seats - maybe if budget allows
    Safe standing - no

So basically anything infrastructure or investing in the futures is a no. Flippant question but where does all the money go?

Mullins , it is thought to be by a reasonable estimate to be 15k a week , Cookie 5k a week ….. So 10k a week extra investment is shenanigans . Even if they are FM figures they are proportionally relative .

You can buy my next car for me , I’ll save a mint

He also said that its a good sum of money being invested, whatever that looks like, they could be next year's shirt sponsors !

Agree with many on here some, frankly, embarrassingly poor questions. Surely it’s obvious to anyone from previous forums: a) we are not going to buy the ground back; b) we are fine with Woodhouse Grove until or if something affordable and better comes up. Some of the implied negativity in the questions really does make me shake my head. What do people want? We’ve lost a few games. Got news for you so have every other team in the league and many an awful lot more. It happens, but please, a bit of perspective! I agree with the poster who said the current leadership team deserve nothing but praise. If you can’t enjoy the current ride, I respectfully suggest you get off the bus.

What money exactly? In terms of revenue it's the same as a small business, I used to work for a small local firm that turned over more than City do. Nearly all if not all monies raised go into the every day running of the club, wages, ground rent, teaming ground costs, the list is endless.

They didn't say that we can't afford these, they said that priorities are elsewhere for where the money is spent. We've got a wage budget of around £7mil, that is where the money has gone and it's right that the pitch is prioritised over moving to a category 2 academy or installing safe standing. Ryan Sparks also said we are spending £150,000 on new seats in the summer, that is confirmed.
They said they can't spend £1mil on a player not that we can't pay transfer fees which is right as it would be a huge risk to pay £1mil for a player, similar with wages we could pay a player 10k a week but it doesn't make any financial sense to do so when you've got a wage bill of £7mil. You can't have 1 player on 10k and everyone else on a max of 5 or 6k as it would impact the harmony in the squad and once you break the wage structure for 1 you have others asking for the same.

Sharpe’s point about clubs being in this division for a number of years was interesting. Maybe we will spend more in future, but need to build up a stable base of funds firstly?
I think it also shows that Rupp will underwrite a bit of debt, but not a lot, and isn’t prepared to make a significant investment in infrastructure e.g. ground, training ground, academy-but they’re all multimillion investments, and it’s his wealth

If the fans forum is going to continue is this format, I have no problem with the questions being vetted, but Jamie Raynor or whoever needs to be brave and not remove a question just because it might be difficult or controversial. Also I would not have a problem with the panel seeing the questions in advance. I would rather have a thought out, considered answer than a stream of unseen questions attempting to "catch them out".

We have been in the bottom league for 6 years and in our first year back we are 11th or twelfth highest spenders. So we are punching 6 places higher than we should be. Progress is being made

They didn’t say no to foreign players. In fact, Gent said “wait and see” in the summer. I’ve had first hand experience of communicating with Gent about foreign players via email and he actively looked at some names I shared with him a few years ago and came back to me with a detailed email. This is a market we are looking at

I didn’t mind most questions as it seemed more than one supporter wanted to ask similar questions and even if they’ve answered it before, an update is always nice. It’s a relaxed fans forum to keep the communication between the club and supporters open and not Question Time.

With that said, the questioning of team selection and tactics were a bit too much. GA looked visually annoyed on the video feed and rightly so. He’s got us promoted and has us at the top of the league. Yes, we all dislike Humphrys as a sole striker but we can’t pretend it hasn’t worked at all because he’s played a lot of minutes and we are still up there

So what did GA say about the continued use of Humphrys as a non-scoring central striker? I know he’s previously said that he doesn’t run enough to play anywhere else, but did he have any other pearls of wisdom as to why this tactic is still being used despite its evident ineffectiveness?

I believe we won't see Humphyrs starting many games as our lone striker, we now have more options with the kid Wheatley and of course Mullin Swan when fit, I thought he did try to counter the question by saying if he played wide where would Bobby play, I'd have thought thats exactly what any manager could wish for two regular starters vying for the same position within the team.
