Mbanq (New American Partnership) / Ryan's Trip To The States

We know very little of the deal, but it seems quite a negative response on here from some
The club state its the biggest sponsorship deal we have done
I think it could be for the stadium naming rights, the university of Bradford, is not exactly a major player
Whatever it is, it's increased income for the club, so only a good thing in my mind
I still dont really get what they do, but they have grown substantially in the past few years, lets hope they and we continue, i could lead to anything.

Does anyone know the value of JCT's shirt sponsorship
One thing is for certain, they have had good value for it in terms of exposure this past 18 months

 

Yes I'm aware of that thanks. It was a comparison to show the difference in size between Mbanq and JCT600 ( the yanks use the word revenue whereas turnover is more commonly used in the UK). Obviously JCT600 are a long established company and Mbanq are new kids on the block so I guess the hope is that they grow and expand quickly and we benefit from that.

I also think if its up for renewal, were JCT interested , or not willing to increase their investment, they have slowly been pulling out of Bradford

 

Red Bull sponsor Leeds , they won’t let anyone muscle in . A tech company can set up in a barn in the Yorkshire Dales …location isn’t really relevant for software designers or engineers etc

Turn over £1 , Income 50p , out goings 40p ……..10 p profit . Still a turn over ( churn) of £1 !

 

I know nothing about them and would suspect most on here don't despite plenty of comments, happy to just wait and see what happens with this one.

My only worry with the new sponsor, is if they are the shirt sponsor, i hope they are flexible with the colouring of their logo as that might look rough on a claret and amber shirt. Biggest pet peeve of mine with modern kits are when a brand logo looks so out of place on a shirt because of its colouring.

 

Not sure of the relevance to the Red Bull reference, I may be missing something. A truly cutting edge Tech company doesn't need ANY office.

By the by. It may be a good thing, just trying to add context. A small, VC backed tech firm has 'partnered' with City - but without detail as to what that partnership means, and based on their revenue profile no one should be expecting material financial input into the Club. Lets see what pans out.

 

I think we should be cautious rather than negative.
If they have put pen to paper then the legal eagles should have done their due diligence and secured a financial guarantee.
There are however questions over MBanq's actual worth in 2026 and how they came to be associated with City.
Did they approach other clubs before us?
How did our association transpire?
The initial statement last year was for back-of-shirt sponsor, has that shifted in negotiations?
Perhaps none of the above matters but it interests me.

 

Thats true...but in context JCTs pre-tax profit was still about the same as Mbanq's turnover!

Sorry if been answered but think JCT is up this summer. If they are the new shirt sponsors then they must be paying more than JCT offered - or offered more than other potential sponsors.

Stadium and back of shirt aponsor with University also up this summer so could be that.

Yep, from the T&A article the JCT deal is up in the summer. Sparks mentioned they cant talk about exactly what Mbanq will offer due to respect to the current sponsors, but reading between the lines i'm guessing they contractually cant say what they are going to be covering until X amount of days before the existing contract with either JCT or the Uni or both if Mbanq are just coming in for the lot.

Blackburn are being sued by Macron aren't they because they announced they are moving to Castore but they announced it far too early than the move on clause in the contract and they were supposed to let Macron match the Castore offer. Makes sense to keep quiet if we have any similar disclosure clauses.

 

What does it matter what the company is worth from our point of view it’s what we are getting out of it. And it seems it’s going to be very profitable
