We're improving pace and athleticism with the Jackson and Wheatley signings.. let's hope they're both up for the challenges we have to secure a top 6 finish.

 

And a bit of physicality with Mullin

 

Let us in on this Park. Who's had a bit of physicality with Mullin?

 

The only thing with Wheatley is that he’s not got much experience of scoring in mens football. His highlight reel showed him scoring on academy pitches in front of Sunday league-sized crowds.

He’s played at small clubs at Walsall and Northampton, and suddenly he’s now in front of 22k fans.

He might be one we have to ease in slowly, but if he’s on Man Utd’s books you’d like to think there’s ability there.

Hopefully he gives us a pace option and he thrives under the pressure here, as City fans aren’t patient.

 

He has played in front of 70k twice I think; he seems unperturbed by the prospect and was one if the reasons he wants to come to City.

 

I posted earlier I saw him at Northampton and wasn't impressed Northampton were there for the taking but we were equily as poor on the day, I'm not sure he's afraid of "men's football" infact that was the one aspect of his game I mentioned to the grandson, saying he shouldn't pick Tilt as his opponent .

 

Listening to Northampton fans he got better and better as the season went on. Most of his appearances are covered on you tube and he looks like he can handle himself

 

That’s fair , and I was originally a sceptic .

 

Sought after last month according to Sharpe. Cardiff amongst other league 1 clubs that were looking to take him on loan.

Looking forward to seeing him play.

 

A wise move by who ever made the call picking City rather than Cardiff, why would Cardiff want Wheatey when they have the leagues leading goal scorer, that they paid big money for, he'd be a bench warm and that wouldnt help his progrees going forward.

I wasn't aware @Kevin1954 its not bad news for fellow League One promotion chasers.

 

Just had a read on their forum, and speculating he might be back soon, although nobody’s sure as the Salech injury been kept quiet by the club. Anyway, it’s irrelevant as we won’t trouble them this season.

 

As indicated it seems to be hush hush , but does beg the question why did they try to hijack Wheatleys move ….probably because he had a great game against them recently?

 

Not really irrelevant. As we have zero chance of overtaking Cardiff, and we don’t play them again, the best thing for us is if they are as strong as possible and beat every other team comprehensively. They play Luton, Lincoln, Wycombe and Huddersfield. More likely to beat them with Salech back.
