I'll be looking out for Stones now to see what he has to his game. Funny were after Beesley, he was another that looked to have a decent skillset when we played Rochdale, I mentioned him a fair few times on here. Ultimately, for a player to move up the levels they have to have something in their armoury that will be able to capitalised on in those levels. It's why Andy Cook, as much as I love him, never made it past a small number of games in league one.

 

Stones is a similar player to Cook. Strength, good in the air and can score. Albeit not as prolific just yet. He's only 22. I touted Stones as a player to sign while we had Cook, let him learn from the master!

 

He sounds an exciting player but £1M would be an insane gamble for city to take on a player who’s basically all promise. That’s not to say he’s not the next Jamie Vardy but city can’t blow that much on a gamble when it could fund 4-5 good signings!
