    Good luck Calum.

I have a feeling we'll regret letting him go permanently.

If we've got even a half decent sell on fee as part of the deal I'm pretty sure we won't. Either way, he'll always be part of the promotion squad and remembered for that but won't be missed now he's gone.

Although he did play a small part for us I always got the impression that he was more concerned about how he looked than how he performed.

Nah. Decent player, playing in a good side. What he does as a striker, are not in short supply

    Time will tell.

I think our support don't give the lad enough credit for his contribution last season. 9 league goals and 5 assists in our promotion season, including some important goals.

0.52 goals/assists for every 90 mins played. Great numbers for a 22 year old. There aren't many 22 year olds with figures like that.

Calum has already delivered L2 numbers and has loads of time to develop. I'm going to call it now that he does well back in L2 and ends up playing L1 football again.

So if he ends up back in league one 3/4 years down the line, what exactly would we be regretting? (Assuming we're still at least at this level).

If he bangs them in at Oldham he could end up being sold for a big fee.

The player market is silly right now. Say Kavanagh does a 15+ goal season (not unrealistic). Some L1 teams would pay big money for a 22 year old with those numbers.

I would have preferred us to loan him so we keep the upside.

I agree, he was a menace to opposing defenders and suited the pressing game

I agree. He never had a chance this season being played out of position and his impact in our promotion was huge regardless of whether people could see that or not.

Best of luck to him, hope he does well for Oldham. Spoke to him a few times and seemed like a nice lad, and was a decent footballer IMO. Touch let him down occasionally this season, but he didn't get a run of games to really get going.
    Good luck Calum

Best of luck. A character gone but just wasn’t up to the standard of league one as yet. League 2 is his level currently and it’s good signing for Oldham.

He's out the side at the minute after some poor performances, but it sounds like Kav has spat his dummy out over it. In last two games, he's liked the other teams posts online after beating or taking points off of Oldham.

A shame. Not sure where he will end up? He has another two seasons on his contract.

Really strange. He started well for them and their fans liked him then he got injured against Grimsby about a month ago so something big must have happened behind the scenes for this to happen so quickly.
