Why would he be surplus? Mullin clearly isn't enough given Cook has gone, Kav is going and Swan is injured. Jackson is not a CF!!!

He has agreed to come, he got recalled from Northampton to join us - when his injury clears up. And then the announcement will take place.

And we need the option to go 2 upfront if chasing a game, something we have lacked.

 

Obviously an uplifting on here after yesterdays signings - key now is can Alexander get us back to the energy and belief of the Cardiff game. Yes we were beaten in that one too but against the top team and apart from 20 minutes where their superior quality shone we competed throughout.
I am still livid with all involved at the total collapse since then and unlike some I still believe January has been a bit of a bodge up and things have happened not through positive planning, but some complacency, cost cutting and ultimately panic and necessity.
Hopefully the new boys will give everyone a lift, whereas the key departures and loanees seemed to suck the life out of the team.
For me it is essential GA gets his mojo back and really motivates the team ethic and our gameplan - his tetchy 'we're over achieving ' attitude hasn't helped things.

I think Humphrys deserves to be on the bench at most. Offers absolutely nothing.

 

I think it's a shame about Kav,just shows we can't bring these players on,good signing for them

 

Kav needs game time and he was never going to get that here on a regular basis in League 1.

Just thinking about the midfield and how light it is. Attacking options we do have quite a lot of bodies (when fit). Creativity is something we’re lacking. Maybe the budget should be focussed on providing goals for the new guys. Just thinking out loud. If Wheatley is injured and we’re waiting, what’s the problem with GA declaring that?

 

Neither Humps or Bobby deserve a spot on current form . I’d have em both on the bench tbh .

 

Agree. Very concerned about central midfield. We appear to have only 2 players in power and metcalfe capable of playing there. And Tommy Leigh who can sort of play there but isn’t a specialist by any stretch + most recently was played further forward in the Lincoln assassination!!
Much as we need goals and I’m happy to see us strengthening, we have been totally overrun in the centre of the park in recent games (and before that) so surely a CM (or 2!) to reinforce this area and provide cover should be a major priority.
Aside from the inevitable suspension for power and evenly JM were one or both of them up get injured we’d be absolutely scuppered!

 

I thought Sibley was a central midfield option.
