Sounds like we are getting a winger in Jackson with a lot of work rate and effort which is something we've lacked lately. Hopefully we can get something out of him to get his output back up to scratch. And, he stays fit, which all out attacking mids have struggled with in recent seasons.

 

Not sure that formation helps us out in midfield Idle. Humphrey won't/ can’t drop back as an attacking midfielder to add strength in that dept ? Remember that’s where we get overrun?

 

He most likely will be leaving at the end of the season when his contract expires but I totally agree. I would be extremely disappointed if we were to offload him now. We've seen how far short we've been going forward in the last couple of games - we need him for as many games as he can manage for the rest of this season.

 

No chance. Still one of the first names on the team sheet if fit TBH. Also GA clearly respects and values him - confident he sees out his contract.

Are people just saying he’s a good signing because we’ve actually signed someone. His stats considering his position are fairly terrible. I don’t mean to be miserable but I don’t see how this solves our problems? I know nothing about the lad and the comments from his previous clubs all suggest he works hard but doesn’t have much ability. If that’s the case they might as well have signed me.

 

We’ve had a few of these “runs hard and fast but no end product” types over the years. Who was that fella that played under Stuart on the right wing. McCall said he was lightning but had absolutely no football brain.

 

Sadly i agree. Feels like we've gone from having a clear sense of what we need, panicking and throwing as much gunk at a wall as we can and hoping that some sticks.

Mottley-Henry?

 

Has a feeling of pre season about it, a lot of new potentially talented players but not sure what they actually do or what system they fit. I guess one positive is it can't ever be as bad as Tuesday night, that ranks in my top ten worst performances.

 

Im just pointing out the obvious. He doesn’t score or assist.. we need people who can score and assist. He’s 32 in Feb and we’ll have him until he’s 34. Don’t get it. Hope he does well but I really don’t get it.

Could say the same about the people writing the young lad from Newcastle off. I’m not, not giving him a chance. I’m saying I don’t understand how an attacking player who has poor stats for an attacker is going to solve our problems.
