A goal every 164 minutes at Wigan isn’t a bad record in my opinion. They are a bad side. Their other strikers have far worse numbers. Joe Taylor has since joined.

The problem is too many fans are mourning the loss of Cook, who is a club legend. They need to get over it as the club have made their bed and need to lie in it. I loved Cook as much as anyone but he can’t influence our results now he’s gone so let’s focus on what we’ve got and how we can improve on it.

Whoever comes in needs to be judged on their own merits and what they bring to the side. Can they improve the goal output Kav, Swan and Humphrys provide?

Hopefully he comes in and does the business but like Cooky I don't think he's a long term solution to a club looking to get out of league one. But with any striker coming in at this stage, the manager needs a rethink on how he approaches games as we've slowly developed into a team that creates next to nothing. Desperately in need of more creativity in the opponents half of the pitch.

As I’ve posted previously, he didn’t have a proper pre-season prior to Wrexham’s League One campaign. Reynolds had organised a tour of America and the Man Utd goalie clattered him, smashed rib and punctured his lung. He had to play catch up after that - hardly an ideal prep for last season sitting on Ryan Reynolds couch while he recovered in America.

Wrexham last season started well and signed loads more players as you’d expect, so he just didnt get the gametime that might have been expected previously. Fiercely competitive squad. They went up so Parky will say he got his calls on selection right. Doesn’t make Mullin a bad striker.

Then this season he’s joined a shite Wigan side and averaged a goal every 164 minutes. 5 in 9 starts. 14 sub apps. Why didn’t Ryan Lowe start him more? Who knows. Many Wigan fans on X said he was their main goal threat.

he went back to Wrexham and ran rings around the others in some mini games in training. But they’ve since signed Kieffer Moore et al on huge wages so he’s not getting game time. No shame in that, again.

don’t worry. He’s a good lad and I’ve waited for years to see him in City colours. Been calling for it since his Camb days. He works hard, gets stuck in. It’s a loan signing that makes sense to both parties. We assess if he can cut it in our set up and he can see if we play to his strengths.
