Compared to the other clubs around us we've weakened our side whilst the other clubs have strengthen very well.

 

Now I know we’ll never agree on him Monkey but his terrible was better than what we currently have.

 

Mullin isn't going to press like we expect, he isn't going to fly past defenders like we want.......but he will be a nuisance and he can certainly finish. Feed the goat and he will score.

We just need some creativity behind him.

Mullin could be a bit like signing Cookie back in the day on loan....... a whiff of "past it" about him with certain sections, but it looks like in his short time at Wigan on the field he made a difference with his minutes. If he stays fit, he could be a good signing. Could.

Always a danger of bringing in a guy who hasn't started that many games in recent years, but Power had barely kicked a ball for 2 years before coming here and his fitness was up to standard in no time with the squad. I think i'd prefer a Mullin type striker of experience, rather than another White/Ashby/Sibley early to mid 20 somethings with not a huge amount of EFL football under their belt, although it seems like Wheatley will tick that unknown gamble box. We needed 2 forwards, looks like we are getting two forwards.

 

Its not my first choice signing but the options we currently have are so fecking bad that Paul 'Mullens' certainly improves the options. He starts on Saturday for me.

 

The amount of things i'd rather see than Humphrys playing up top on his own again is unreal, so it's a welcome one. Not one anyone really would want if you'd have listed every forward that's moved to L1 from the CH this season, but i'll give him a chance.

Although, something behind needs to change for him or anyone to be able to turn this ship around. If we are hoofing, play a back 4, get an extra body up the top and give the hoof an actual chance to work. If we are going back to pressing, commit to it again like we did at the start of the season rather than this stand off nonsense we've done for months.

 

Paul Mulins, Mulens, Mullen, Mollen..... i cant wait to see the endless alternatives to the lads actual surname.
