I tell you what mate iff nothing transpires in the next few days it will be interesting what the season ticket sales for next season are.

 

I am as frustrated as everyone about the lack of signings, but dear me, there is some way over the top overreaction on here at the moment with 5 days left of the window.

Fans threatening to find something else to do on Saturday instead of supporting the lads who have maintained a top 6 position all season on the back of promotion.

Come on boys and girls, get a grip, and make some noise on Saturday and get behind the team.

Compare your attitude to those of say Sheff Wednesday… not a pot to piss in, -7 points and looking at a large points deduction next season unless someone is willing to pump up some cash for them very soon. We’ve sat through utter crap over the years while other clubs fans got off their arse and did went through protests. We just moan. Stop feeling sorry for yourself and support the team. It’s really not as bad as you are trying to make out.

Competent is one thing , not getting game time could ruin the lads career? Same with Cook, same with Patto, same with Richards etc… And there will be more .

All could be said to be “ competent”?

 

For all his qualities GA can be stubborn and if he just doesn't fancy a player they won't play.

Vice versa with if he really does fancy a player, they play some part regardless.... Cough TYRIEK WRIGHT cough

29th January, we are entering the Guthrie Zone for signings now.

As for talk of Mullins. If we were looking to loan Mullin, why did we send Cook out on loan. They are effectively the same player and I'd rather have the one I know will run through a brick wall for us.

 

It’s almost as if some people have been desperate for us to struggle, for three matches that is, to have a decent moan. We’ve 5 days of the window left in which I’m certain we’ll be active in. If it is mullin coming in he’s universally disliked for being a nightmare to play against.

 

One is 36 coming off the back of an ACL, the other is 31. One of them will certainly be more mobile at the moment

 

Do we think Cook would have even got a run out or made a difference these last three games? What I’ve seen of him this season, is unfortunately not the Cook of old, and certainly not someone who can lead the line. We’d be humping it up even more than we’re currently doing. However - that doesn’t change the fact that our current strikers are not firing and a new one should be brought in. It’s not a Cook replacement we need, it’s a Humphrys/Kavanagh/Swan upgrade through the door we need.

 

I'll get behind us until about 17 minutes in when Billy Sharp chicken dances past the kop and Gibson shushes relentlessly.

 

Neither of them have been starting games lately.

Gibson unused sub on Tuesday and Sharp came on with 10 mins to go when the game was already won.

What people are moaning at are that every man and his dog knew this was going to be a difficult run and we could all see from November and December teams were sussing us out and our fitness and guile was fading fast. The manager the club all knew we would need to do our business early to be ready for this run, and we've brought average to poor players in and lost the heartbeat of the squad. We've made this run more difficult and our football has been embarrassing during it and while the results might not have changed I bet the performances would have. Its called frustration where our club yet again fails to capitalise on a great scenario. We all know whats coming if they dont pull something out of the bag before Saturday, we will be snatching mid table out of the jaws of the Autos

 

Well I guess we will never know but give me Cook 7 days of the week, twice on a Sunday ahead of Kavanagh. We brought on Kavanagh to partner Hump up front on Tuesday for an entire 2nd half because that is all we have available. It is unacceptable.

We are 29 days into the transfer window, let Cook go, and we are still waiting for that elusive striker. In the meantime we have been absolutely shite and lost ground on the autos.

 

Spot on, you are right. Though, with the evident difference between the great start and the current levels, it's frustrating to see such a drop off in the short term. Medium/Longer term we couldn't have hope for better than this at the start of the season could we?
