Oh dear are we playing that game. It's an opinion like 99 percent of the posts on here. Obviously it's got your goat though, and you wish to be a pedant - crack on.

Owning a lower division club is not a cash cow. FFS

    I own a small business
It’s certainly not a cash cow, but I do take dividends
Do we know if Rupp has?

Any new signing these days has to do all the media bobbins don’t they. Dunno how long it takes to edit it all.

Last I looked the published accounts on companies house don't detail any dividends, that's not to say they don't exist though

Something most seem to know. If I were a betting man I’d comfortably wager that not one EFL club has turned a
“ paper” profit without owner input over the same 10 year period suggested . I can’t think of one and that includes those getting £40-50m parachute payments to the CC and in Luton’s case L1 . Madness but hey believers will believe contrary to all evidence

Most EFL clubs do not make an annual profit
and typically operate at a loss, relying on owner funding to stay solvent. While revenues have grown, Championship clubs frequently record operating losses, often exceeding £300m annually, driven by high wages chasing promotion. Profitability usually only occurs through significant player sales, such as at Coventry or Blackburn.
Key Financial Realities for EFL Clubs:
    • Operating Losses: Without player sales, almost all clubs in the Championship, League One, and League Two operate at a loss.
    • Player Trading Dependence: Profits are rare and, when achieved, are often due to high-value player sales, notes the SBI Barcelona report.
    • Championship Financials: For 2023/24, Championship clubs reported pre-tax losses around £318m, with wages often consuming a massive portion of revenue, according to Deloitte.
    • Owner Subsidies: Many clubs rely on owner equity injections—totalling £554m in 2023/24—to cover losses, says Deloitte.
    • Promotion Gamble: Clubs often intentionally overspend on wages to reach the Premier League, resulting in losses for many.
While some clubs achieve break-even, the overarching trend is that EFL clubs are financially susceptible, relying on external investment to offset losses incurred while chasing on-field success.

Reading what Alexander says in the T&A looks like we are getting out muscled by clubs with bigger pockets

I understand our accounts are quite limited in what they reveal
Let’s say for example he takes £5000 per week
Not an unrealistic figure given the companies turnover ,£260k per annum, 10year ownership
He has almost half his initial investment back
    Not saying he has though

Not sure I believe the hard up stories and that Rupp is our good samaritan.

So you think Rupp is funding us?? I don't see any evidence of that in terms of the personal coming into the club we are letting more go than come in this month and reliant on loans. We are not your typical lower league club with our 20k attendances, just our stagnating league stature sadly.

there are numerous income streams including kick backs from youth players that never get anywhere near the first team too...this lad went for 2m in jan 25, now I don't know the percentage but originally in our youth set up and we were in line for compensation.

I thought exactly the same when I read what he said.
Mind you we shouldn’t have let players leave if we didn’t have guaranteed replacements.

That’s far and away completely different to the normal definition of cash cow . Your analogy above is using funds generated from whatever means to support the day to day funding of the business, in this case a football club . A cash cow generates huge profit at low cost ( to the business) and goes into shareholder dividends.

One rumour on our former lads, some Carlisle fans seem to think Harry Lewis is Mansfield bound.

Everywhere you look from players, commentators and vloggers, "Bradford City are a big club"..
Unfortunately, a large ground and big attendances doesn't get you success on the playing field.. Money does.. and it appears in the financial sphere we are small fry in League 1.

Rob Apter set to sign for our rivals Bolton on loan. Good signing that.

Didnt someone mention him on here as a potential option for us?
