If it is Mullin, he would certainly bring that aggression that we miss so much up front, and Im sure he still has a few goals in him.

On checking, he is a bit younger than I thought at 31.

 

Nothing to do with a fee that’s a separate issue (quality costs simple as that) it’s to do with the fact this is just a name signing to appease its so obvious it’s unbelievable exactly like the Wright move or the Critchlow moves in the last two winter windows. He’s injury prone, where ties have been cut already with Wigan for some reason. It’s a poor move mark my words.

 

I agree. I do hope we can put together a couple of plans to play against other teams in this league. Trying to play the same plan has finished our hopes of further progression for now. If it all possible we need to shore up that midfield. The defence would not look no where near as bad if we had other areas of the pitch functioning.


I have no idea what has happened, but something dramatic has. It doesn’t look like the finances meet expectations.

An injury prone Mullin who has never cut it at league 1 (reasons put forward by some as to why it was right to get rid of Cook), and a young lad with a poor goals return just coming back from an ankle injury that means he won't be match fit for a few weeks.

Just reading up on Mullins Wigan spell, he seemed to split opinion. A fair trend seemed to be that he was their most likely attacking outlet when he played, another one is just that he looked knackered when pressing, but we don't do that anymore anyway.

One thread was that Wigan did not play the way strikers like Mullin need. Wigan played a 352, with a sitting DM infront of the back 3, then 2 CMs rather than a 10, and expected the wing backs to be the attacking push, and they never were which left Mullin and Costelloe was his main partner when he started looking pretty isolated.

There was a game he played in with a funny "Wigan are the perfect one touch side today" went a bit viral..... because after half an hour each player in the team had only touched it once. He just wasn't the same player since that bad pre-season injury say the Wrexham lot.

 

I cannot disagree with that, but I am thinking more of, he fits the bill of being a promotion winner etc.

His record in League 1 isn’t the best, 10 in 66 games, but as @Jordan has mentioned above, his record for Wigan this season isn’t too bad but fitness may be an issue?

I’d like us to sign better than Mullin, however I think he would be an improvement on Kav.

Reading through our hashtag this morning on X and a few people on there suggesting Sarcevic is out for the season. Was Alexander asked about the injuries last night?

 

I'd like to see us sign another 1-11 after last night.

Striker is a start but what about the abysmal midfield. We have no one to replace Sarc if he is injured he has been such an influence.

 

Season is done if it is Mullin, League 2 striker and after all his injuries, he's hardly even that.

Yes.. Andy Cook can at least hold the ball up when our 3 lumpers at CB nail it up to him. Mullin can’t.

He's alright as a stop gap till the end of the season. Hopefully he brings a couple of creative players with him.

All them players they probably knew for months that they where going and they do this to us .............atill its the next step in getting us ready in 3 years time when we will walk to the title when Rupp has forked out tens of millions to insure that not only are we ready for the championship but we are then ready for a push at promotion ..............cannot wait for 2032 when we are then pushing for the PL title because we are getting ready for it

Come on how many teams through out the history of football have ever been ready ????? That BBC podcast said Sarcevic was out for about 3 weeks

 

The radio Leeds reporter never asked about Sarcevic or Swann. It wasn’t Jamie Raynor,he’s on his holidays but there’s probably a press conference today and maybe ask then. If Sarcevic is crocked for the season then my forecast of 60 points at season end is looking optimistic.
