He was shocking yesterday but I think there is something in what you say. When he came on with Ashby against Cardiff the two of them were obviously on the same wave length and played some tidy interchanges in tight spaces. But White is very lightweight. I like what I've seen of Ashby though and he looks to have a turn of pace too. I think he will work out

 

Ashby certainly looks the better of the two and after playing a decent amount of Championship games you'd expect so.White to me looks like a poor mans Ryan East

 

One silver lining has been our reaction to the games we've lost this season. It's been doom and gloom on here after each one and predictions of wheels coming off right back to our Doncaster defeat. We've come back after each one with a strong performance. Let's hope Tuesday night follows the same pattern.

 

Your right but i feel yesterday we would get some kind of reaction after the Cardiff but nothing at all and Lincoln will be after putting a huge gap between us and them

He's young, but not that young. He's 23 and having come through a premier league youth setup you'd have thought by now he would be on the cusp of showing his potential. Couldn't see much of that yesterday.

 

I must admit thr defeat yesterday felt different but I'm not going to panic yet. A draw will do fine against Lincoln as long as we deal with Doncaster on Saturday.

He might turn out that he isn’t up to the job as a professional footballer. However, I would like fans to give him a bit of leeway. Ppl mature at different ages. For a start he should play in his preferred position.

Of course you are right you would hope that sending him to a lower league club he would be ready. Not sure how many matches he needs to get up to speed, clearly wasn’t ready for an all out derby.

 

I agree. He's supposed to be an AM rather than a wide player so why start him there instead of Lapslie who's comfortable there? What worries me is the fact he's had lots of league experience but all loans and no one trying to take him permanently. The Leyton Orient experience would have been a red flag for me and I fear he might well turn out to be just another young player from the PL who's never really going to make it. We've seen loads of them in recent times. I think the best use we could make of him is as an addition to Power and Metcalfe in midfield, feeding a front two. Let's hope he can find his feet quickly, though yesterday's experience will have done nothing for his confidence.

 

It's not beyond the realms of possibility that when we asked for Ashby, Newcastle asked us to take White as well for more experience.. not saying that's what's happened, it's just a thought.

The actual player is irrelevant to some extent, but the lack of quality in our passing is a massive issue.

There was one occasion late on on Saturday, with the TB's down to 10 men and not putting any pressure on the ball, that four passes in a row between our defenders and midfield went behind or right into it's target, so there had to be at least a touch, or a retreat to pick up the ball, before we could start moving forward.

We're playing at too high a level to lack such basic technical ability.

 

Maybe play Josh ahead of Ashby in the forward position taking the defensive responsibilities away to a great extent and getting him to run at the opposition higher up the pitch?

 

Comfortably the worst we have played all season. We never had a kick until they went do to 10 men.

Letting Andy Cook go is fine if you have someone lined up to come in, just letting Humphries swan around the place is a laughable replacement. Embarassing from start to finish on Saturday and it's no surprise the fans couldn't get up for the game when we were served up with utter dross.

Saturday made a combination of Hughes, Bowyer and Adams ball look entertaining.
