Midfield is the problem for me RT. Two in the middle get overrun, because the left and right of the front three don’t drop back quick enough to recycle the ball. They are Sarce and Bobby.
Teams have sussed us , notice Hudds yesterday, no pussyfooting around 15 passes by defenders and keeper , just long balls to deep midfield , nullifying our press.

Maybe their new gaffer has learnt something whilst on paid gardening leave by Norwich? ( That’s why it took so long for Hudds to get him on board I believe .
Poncing around at the back was his main style of play , that’s why they got easily picked off , especially at home.

Some good points there Kev, there's a lot of pressure on the left and right of the front three to perform, what with the constant press and the need to each be a decent goal supply, especially when we aren't playing with a goal scoring nine. When that press fails to perform the weaknesses become quickly apparent, what we've seen both Cardiff and Town do to us the last two games shows our limitations. Both teams a level above us in being able to cycle the ball through passing via midfield, something the present formation doesn't allow us to do.

 

You’d expect so but maybe he might not get the playing time there and they have a lot more forward options ?

After the summer window they must have put something aside for the winter one and with the added money from the cup runs and hgher attendances we cant be farvoff the mark ............or we going down the road of saving it for the summer window ????


A big week for the club in terms of the window and the Lincoln game if both go badly then sadly as well all know it can easily turn toxic

What do you think will honestly happen if we went up this season? Do you think we are going to spend 12 million pounds on players like Charlton have? Do you think we can sign players like Josh Windass on 20k a week or sign Ben Sheaf for 7.5 million because that’s what’s it’s going to take.
The resources I mention are players that have at least have some championship experience and maybe finding players that we can sell on for money which will help us invest. I’ll happily take promotion but if you have the option of another crack at league one being competitive and adding more quality to the squad over being pumped every week in the Championship then I’d choose to consolidate allday long.

We didn't have many with decent league one experience and we certainly didn't have anyone to sell on, not for anything worthwhile anyway.

You take promotions when they come, especially as a Bradford City fan and once we're there, then we can deal with the what ifs.

Also, let's not use huge transfer fees and wages from Hollywood fc as an example. We'd be aiming to follow the path that Preston, Millwall and Oxford have taken, they certainly aren't throwing mega millions around.

As a fan, I want us to win every game, get promoted at every opportunity and play at higher level.

I find it bizarre some fans are concerned over promotion. Do you/they enjoy losses and breathe a sigh of relief?

 

Most transfer fees are staggered payments, we must have the cash flow to supplement it from all the money generated. I don’t get it, other clubs can do it why can’t we what’s holding us back? I have asked this question multiple times at fans forums and it never gets picked up. Why are we so adverse to risk and speculating. Il submit it again but for years it’s the ground holding us back now all of sudden that’s affordable. Fans are doing they bit they are coming in droves paying the rate they set if that’s to low then that’s on them making that decision. We are told retail and commercial doing well, so I just don’t get it buts it’s very window. Bar the Charlie Wyke one god knows how long ago when we’ve attacked it.

 

CM, AM and CF still needed for me. I wouldnt say no to another CB either. Ashby looks ok, Sibley is a meh and White looked shite yesterday. Early days though.

Get Byrne, Kelly, Leigh, Lapslie and Kavanagh off the books to accomodate.

 

It's 9 years since we last had an opportunity like this and it seems some fans would rather us wait another 9 before we try again. We didn't make it then and we might not make it this time but it would be absolute madness to throw the towel in now and not give it a right good go.
