I think this is exactly it. We aren’t in any position to go up this season although it would be a brilliant achievement. We need to be getting promoted with at least a couple of players who can compete in that league and I don’t think we have one to be honest. Charlton have spent £12mill this season and their fans have already turned on the team looking at the footage from their game with Millwall yesterday.
A promotion would be truly amazing but do we really want to spend next getting panned each week, getting relegated and then having to start again. I’d rather us build our way there where we then have the best resources available to give us the best chance of staying in the league.
