Alexander has a knack of getting a response out of his team and I wouldn’t be surprised if we get something on Tuesday night. Those knocking the new recruits need to hold back and give them a chance when we see what they’re like from the start. I agree White looked out of his depth, but the other 2 look to have something and we need to see them in the starting eleven. Again we start off slowly with no patterns of play and second to every ball. If we’re to get anything out of this season, he needs to get into them on the training pitch. Yes we’re hurting but the stick Alexander is getting is completely disproportionate to the good times he’s brought to the club.

 

Not if the two playing alongside him are 20 yards away on the touchline.

Nothing at all when balls started getting crossed in you didnt fancy us at all did you.
We can all have the cook may or may not have made a difference but to not have a ready made replacement in could kill our season off because with all the remaining forwards left i would still fancy Cook to out score them all .........sadly

 

It’s easy to accuse but I am sure it was lack of application rather than passion. I think we have a honest bunch of players.

We seriously lack height and pace. Don't know if that occurs to anyone on the recruiting group.

 

Because when Alexander gets tetchy Raynor always chickens out of asking any challenging questions - on his own twitter he thought it was a fascinating interview! He loves to suck up when its gone well but a bit of a wuss when it things have gone badly

 

Yes I do has they have proved time after time this season and they were up against a team who also were very much up for it and on the day we weren’t good enough but it’s got knack all to do with passion

 

Agree with most of that, but for me Alexander got it wrong with some of his after match comments. Most fans know we are ahead of the game, we are punching above our weight and he and the players have overall been great.
But today we played abysmally, Alexander got aspects wrong, the ref wasn't the main factor we were shocking and our Jan business doesn't look like it' has strengthened the team (to date) - I usually like listening to GA but today he deflated me as much as the performance. He always talks about being honest but today he was just tetchy and defensive - not a good day at the office full stop.

 

I think GA is to blame more than the players today. Looking back on it, it was evident the plan was to sit deep, soak up pressure and get to half time unscathed

very obvious flaw with that plan, which is what to do when you go a goal down and are unable to change the momentum. Hudds were allowed to grow into the game; whilst our full backs appeared to be given instructions not to pass the halfway line. Knocking the ball up top for Humphrys was another GA masterstroke. There’s nobody around him to win the second ball and the bloke aint a target man.

Don’t really know what to make of most of this. Weve been poor for a while now, especially away from home. Im of the belief that there is money to be spent, but GA an Sharpe are holding off unless the right target comes in mind, but when you are in a promotion race, sometimes you gotta take risks and I dont think thats been the case here. Weve bolstered our options in the RWB role and basically brought in a LG1 version of Lapslie and thats about it.

White looks lightweight, our CBs are playing physio table roulette, our 10s are either off form or run into the ground, our striker isnt a striker and our wing backs are no longer capable of taking their men on. A big 7 days ahead, and it better merit more than a younger from the United Academy or I can see us finishing midtable

 

Only a thought, wonder if GA’s slightly, and unusual, tetchy post match interview could have been impacted by the Tilt incident? Cleary , Tilt was very upset and GA also incensed. Just thought - he’s only human.

 

The best bit was when Jamie asked GA whether the players were overawed by the atmosphere and he just said no.

 

How did our "impact subs" do?

Andy Cook would have been a useful player these last two games and who knows, may have just got on the end of something.

I don't disagree with allowing him to leave eventually but surely we should have brought someone in first so it didn't leave us relying on 3 players that have looked completely ineffective for months in that role.
