Because GA thinks Humphrys is a striker when the lad couldn’t trap wind. He’s great when he has 5-6 touches on the ball but useless otherwise. Kav isn’t good enough for Guiseley unfortunately

Ah but we were told when Cook starts the defenders just hoof it, they mustn't have watched today game because until McGuane got his second yellow that pretty much all we did with regards attacking options,

    Yep.. I don't get it.
Early doors in the season the majority of long balls were diagonals to Neufville mostly but also to Touray. Now it seems they are instructed to bang it over midfield to either Swan who can't win it or like today, to Humphrys who either heads to their goalie or takes it to feet and tries to dribble when the easier option is to play it to either side. WHY??

You can say that we only went up with a last minute goal but I would say a stupid sending off by Smallwood and conceding injury time goals in the run in cost us the league title. We’ve been sensational in 2025 and are now victims of our own success. The big cup run and increased attendances will simply reduce our no doubt substantial losses this season.

A good assessment of why we might slip out of the race

We are definitely victims of our Success. Our preseason preperation helped us set off like a house on fire and we were an unknown quantity and we have definitely been punching above our weight and as G A speaks about we are well ahead of our planning at this stage.
I have always thought that a top half finish would be great but get success and expectations rise as I said in earlier post I think it’s our home form which is going to decide our fate

Very very poor today, can`t believe we saved our worst performance of GA`s reign for today at our neighbours home ground. Need to get one or preferably two recognised strikers in before the window ends.
I was sat with town supporting family in the home end today which wasnt good, i thought i might struggle to keep my mouth shut but it was relatively easy to be fair due to the total lack of threat from us, Town should have been 3 up by half time, even when they went down to 10 men it didnt look like we`d score, i blame playing in that flippin kit too!
Am hoping that if owt good does come out of todays abysmal performance its that the club does something to try guarantee at least a play off spot in the transfer market, we still in with a shout of autos as well but only if we splash the cash!

ps - when Baldwin blasted the ball up into the stand today it just missed a grey haired old lady in front of me but i managed to punch the ball away however it caught my thumb, bit painful but its not broken i don`t think, thanks Alec!!

Another thing I would say is yet again we had to make multiple substitutions at half time because of a poor first half showing. Thats now 6 times in the last 16 games (all comps) that this has happened.

No. We should sign a centre forward instead of playing our left winger there.

I'm a believer that the lack of cup matches is a hindrance rather than an advantage

do you honestly think a new centre forward will make a blind bit of difference with our midfield
    think on.

    Outplayed and outfought today.
Hope Sars is back for the Lincoln match. Joe White is out of his depth.

Rupp needs to get the cheque book out and invest in 3 quality players, pacy CB, box to box CM and a goal scorer.

Yes I do. I think if we have a genuine target that can hold the ball out get their back line turning, automatically it will get the whole team playing 20 yards higher where the midfield can actually affect the game.

    Poor in every department today.
Walker 6 - couldn't do much more with the defence in front of him for the goal.
Neufville 4- not the player when he signed. Something amiss.
Baldwin 4 - long diagonals off today and never looked settled on the ball.
Wright 3- needs to stop allowing the ball to bounce as invariably gets out muscled and puts us under pressure.
Tilt 4- looked uncomfortable playing on the left of defence.
Toure 4 - didn't do much either direction.
Power 4- outrun in midfield. Chasing shadows. Passing and crossing needs to be a lot better.
Metcalfe 6 - huffed and puffed but no match for their midfield.
White 2- looked lost. Lightweight. Men against boy.
Pointon 4- no impact yet again away from home.
Humphreys 3- couldn't hold the ball up. Looked lethargic.

    Subs - no impact

Surprisingly only two players from the last game of last season against Fleetwood started today (Walker and Pointon). Success brings togetherness. I'm definitely not stating that we shouldn't move on but maybe the cull has been made too quickly in some respects.

The way we've been playing it's hard to disagree with the presenters claim. Punching above our weight for the first half of the season, we've managed to keep putting points on the board without very really looking like a promotion winning side.Respect has to be given to Alexander for having us up there challenging but I expect the likes of Stockport, Bolton and Huddersfield to finish above us due to having better quality squads.
