Can get a striker all you want but when you have a midfield constantly overloaded then the said striker is gonna get nack all service.

As someone who didn’t want Alexander as manager he continues to go up in my estimation. Great post match interview

GA's interview was pretty car crash for the first half of it.
He came out fighting in the second half of it and he's right in saying we shouldn't move too far away from what's brought us success.
He's never gonna criticise the players either.
The league table once again is very kind towards our current form.
I said to my mates we might lose all 3 of the big games, Cardiff, Hudders and Lincoln and still be sat in the top 3.

Watching Bolton v. Orient. Great game and both teams showing more passion, guile and effort than our lot have shown for many a week - oh and they actually attack in numbers with more than one striker in the box.

Disappointing it took a whole 3 minutes for him to find the back of the net
It was made for him today coming on for last 15 mins against 10 men
Should never have been "let go" without a replacement in the building
Undoubtedly (so far) the January window has weakened us
    Cheers GA

Even if it was to be 7k+ that is still a huge amount of us and blows our wage structure to pieces which then causes a lot of problems in the summer when other incoming players or player renewing contracts want deals close to that. Attendances and merchandise only go so far, at a stretch we are targeting £12mil turnover this season, there are quite a few clubs who will beat that comfortably and that is before you consider owners at these clubs financing huge losses.
We have to be realistic about where we are and throwing loads of money at it is a huge risk financially and for the squad harmony.

You know.. the writing was on the wall before the new year.. home loss to Burton, away loss to Orient and Mansfield, dour, eked out 1-0s at home and reasonable performances against Plymouth, Reading and Wigan.. "just fine" barely covers it... we knew what was required before the 'big' games yet we haven't recruited to fix it.

It's a pity he couldn't do that when he played against Cheltenham earlier in the season. We're in league 1 now, he's scoring in league 2. Omari Patrick has 6 goals and 4 assists playing LWB and LW for Tranmere should we be signing him?

    My ratings today
    Walker ok 6
Neufville 3 no attacking threat, a liability defensively, pointless booking. What on earth's happened to him.
Baldwin 3 his worst game for a long time.
J Wright 4 nothing against the lad but I've thought him to be poor right from game 1. Bullied again.
Tilt 5 not his best game
Power 4 rapidly becoming Smallwood mark2. So deep it wasn't true.
Metcalfe 6 despite some comments I thought he was the only one to show the energy and drive needed in a game like this.
White 2 completely out of his depth
Pointon 2 useless. I've run out of excuses for him. Lovely lad but it's pointless playing him away from VP at the moment.
Humphys 4 completely ineffective. Tried but given an impossible task. Just what was he supposed to do with long balls up to him, surrounded by three giant centre backs and no City player anywhere near him.
Subs Ashby I like him. Will replace Neufville.
Sibley some enthusiasm but no end product.
    T Wright no impact.
    Leigh didn't notice him.
    Kavanagh the usual ineffective contribution.
GA 3 mindless set up. He's a lovely man and there's a great deal to admire in the way he conducts himself and talks about the game. But I'm beginning to wonder if he's been very lucky with the Fleetwood miracle and our early results. Stubbornness and tactical naivety are beginning to take their toll, as witnessed by a panicky and cantankerous demeanour on the touchline. He needs to restore his standing over the rest of the season.

In a weird sort of way the last 2 games has really shown that we are not a million miles away in competing at the top end of this league. Just need a decent frontline as don’t someone say swan will be out for 6 weeks?

We could do with a back line that can pass accurately out of the back as well, we lost the ball so many times it was crazy. Huddersfield weren’t scared to go long but they were far more accurate.

Think we all agree 2 class strikers and an attacking midfielder is an absolute must have. I agree with other post though saying although we have lost again, it’s just 2 or 3 decent signings that can make us a promotion candidate and competed to last year we are miles in front

They targeted balls behind our back line knowing full well how slow our centre backs are.

He had about ten opportunities to run at their fullback and turned down every single one. How is that our best attacking option? He has had some good games this season but I thought he was dreadful today. Didn’t beat his man, didn’t get into shooting positions, didn’t get crosses in. What exactly do you think that he did well?

Link to the post match interview from Alexander - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p0mwyzg7

Like a lot of interviews with players and managers there is often a lot of PR and media talk rather than the full truth and I think this interview was more for the players than the fans. He's done what a lot of managers do these days and talk a lot about the referee to hide behind them whilst protecting the players so I probably wouldn't read loads into it. I think he is also trying to keep everyone calm and panicking will only end in disaster.

Disappointing to hear that Tilt was subject to racist abuse from a mindless idiot. I'll never understand people like this but it sounds like there was a camera very near so they shouldn't be hard to find and when they are the police get hold of them
