We were doing just fine with the players we had up to the New Year yet fans were screaming for new signings.
Well those new signings are here and I’m not seeing any improvement, in fact it’s been a pretty terrible January.
Sometimes in life you don’t need to change a single thing if it’s working.

 

I'm not sure if I'm imagining this or not, but I thought Rupp said in the summer the aim this year is promotion and that he was willing to provide the funds to achieve that. If that's true then next week could be exciting and if it's not, I'm guessing I must have dreamt that he said that.

 

Anyone heard what the incident was involving Curtis Tilt at end of game? Apparently he was pretty upset by whatever was said.

 

True but when our forward is best none for pressing it says it all.

 

My thoughts on today. They were better than us so fair play to them. I’m not getting involved in insults just because they are our nearest rivals. They have spent millions more than us and it showed today. Harness and May were class as was the lad got sent off. We need some serious competition for places and it’s absolutely obvious we need 2 not 1 class strikers. I’m absolutely not downhearted as a previous fan says look where Port Vale and Donny are now. But today really showed we need investment if we are to compete

There’s zero chance we get promotion unless we bring in more attacking players. The dogs knew we can’t score goals so at 1-0 shut up shop. It was so obvious. If their manager can see we can’t score goals than our recruitment team not bringing in a striker this week is criminal. If the lad at Man Utd is injured, then bring in someone else. January has been a joke of a window to date

 

Not heard anything about CT being upset hope it’s not a racist comment. Just another thought t thought referee was really good today

All their threat was from May in that inside left channel. You know, the area Baldwin should be looking after when we're playing a back 3.

I agree that we've more priorities that the back line though as Pennington can come in with Tilt in the middle and Touray as LCB and it'll be fairly solid again.

 

I haven’t heard the manager just yet. Heard our captain and he sounded distraught.

If we continue to play like this with our midfield wide open then we will continue to lose matches it is as simple as that. Plus we do need 2 quality strikers, and a specialist midfielder who can pick it up and run with it. Scoring goals becomes a habit with not only the striker but instills confidence in all the players. I would prefer two up top. We cannot continue relying on our wingbacks for supply as they are marked out of the game now as opposed to the beginning of the season.

The first half looked very poor. It was better second half. I thought Ashby and Sibley were good.
We might get promoted if we can bring in players if not we will sink into mediocre.
The ref was bad but not the reason we lost.

It wasnt just Baldwin though was it. So why not call out Neufville too who was equally switched off most of that first half, and was rightly hooked at half time.

 

He looked totally fed up. Hope his head hasn’t been turned but it certainly had the hallmarks

 

Yep, Neufville was terrible but he's not picking up a striker against a 3 5 2, he was picking up Mumba.

You could blame Wright for allowing the distance between the CBs I suppose but either way, there's no defending (pun intended) Baldwin.

Losing to a team you hate always hurts but this was just shameful performance, woeful.

Kav isn’t good enough for this level at moment . Loan him out or sell him please. We need a top out and out forward before the end of the month.
