    Agreed!

someone the other week was saying he shuts his eyes when taking in a cross and is scared of challenges. Absolute poppycock!

Well, when he gets it wrong it looks really bad but on the whole he's turned out to be a very solid signing.

I prefer his kicking/distribution out of hands then on the floor. He's launched some good attacks with his kicking from hands after corners or crosses.

I think it's reflective of the comments Alexander made last week where he said we are waiting for other clubs to bring players in before we can move on their players.

I think we'll see a flurry of activity towards the end of the window but they will be players we have targeted specifically and not panic buying. It's just that clubs won't release players until they can bring someone in.

I just hope we can keep close to the top while we wait for the reinforcements.

Every keeper’s errors look really bad. It’s the nature of the beast. Outfield players make numerous mistakes per game and usually get away with it. Keeper errors always look calamitous because they usually end in goals conceded or close shaves. I don’t believe that Walker makes any more errors than other L1 keepers and probably fewer than most. And he’s second in the table for percentage of shots saved this season. I just don’t see how some people can say he’s a poor keeper in those circumstances. It’s bizarre.

This surely buries the Man Utd loan?

    Can't take this long surely?

Dunno. Some people seem to think it’s a done deal but he’s back at Man U getting treatment and it won’t be announced until he’s ready to train with us. I’ve no idea if that’s true though.

Personally think it’ll only happen if he’s sufficiently overcome his injury. We might have to draw a line and move on if it drags on much longer.

How injured is he?? If it was just a niggle then surely we’d just announce it. If it’s a bit more serious then I can’t see the point in putting all our eggs in one basket for him. Move on and get someone in who can actually play.

I'd rather have a Peter Thorne type character who has been there and done it to get us over the line. I think the chickens will come home to roost tomorrow if we can't finish whatever chances fall our way.

According to Peter O Rourke and MEN its a done deal. He was recalled from Northampton to send him here. Its just not been announced yet as he is unavailable for selection.

Yeh but we got lucky there. Look at how many 30 somethings who have been there done it but were well past it when they arrived at VP.

Donaldson, Derbyshire, McLean....could even argue Vaughan, Doyle and Novak. Either shite, expensive mistakes or crocked.

Back training. But if we had announced him 2 weeks ago and he isnt making squads there would be uproar on social media for signing an injured player. Club done right thing IMO.

Agree Onside87, surely we can't be having this, signing an injured player (not like BCAFC!)?
When he has recovered, how long before he is match fit? Unless we can't back out, we should move on and sign somebody who can actually pull on the shirt and play - now!

Agree totally. However, and a genuine question, how much more revenue would the club get?

Attendance wise we are doing well vs capacity....potentially an extra 1k-2k then?

Merchandise, a bit. Strong demand for recent releases (i cry over the missing of the Dux, beaver kit selling out and not grabbing one), would it grow that much more? Same too with corprate.

    Maybe sponsorship more so?

Tv revenue, an interesting one and wait for better knowledge than mine as to any scale of uplift.

Vs the outlay. Charlton example. Saw Derbys new lad scored again, interesting player....but nigh on £7m spent.

Championship is now in Premiership afterburner territory on budgets.

That said, some canny loans...why not go large on a vital area, one utterly needed too. Bed him in now and how knows. If promotion, a fantastical achievement, doesn't come off we have a goal getter raring to go next season.
Then again, they dont grow on trees but given the focus of our rivals in this area its not stopping them signing in January.

Back Graham with the tool he not only needs but deserves!

I think the club are thinking of the money. If he’s still at Man Utd they may not have to contribute to his wages until he gets here. Pointless having him here if he can’t play yet, so keep the money in the bank until he is.

Its probably also that he can't pass the medical until fit

Signing an injured player is risky, how many short term injuries have turned into months

Begs the question why we're so keen to sign a lad who has scored 3 goals this season and isn't currently fit.

It's a bold move. Let's see if it pays off.

Alexander has said previously that he wasn’t hung up on strikers scoring all the goals. What this lad may do, is put himself about and create chances for others. At the moment Swan is ineffective as the focal point and Humphrys is a winger being forced to play that role.
