Yeah both the 8.5k per week current number and the Salford have offered 10k thing are both from Notts fans. I believe they thought they were going for him but they are getting Lee Ndlovu from Barnet instead it seems.

 

In a nutshell county fans are guessing . And are no wiser than Guisley fans ?

 

Probably, never know these days. The 10k a week thing sounds like absolute nonsense.

 

Going back a couple of years when they were in L2, but i remember hearing on a pod that the contract Mullin signed just before their L2 season had him as the highest paid in L2 history at the time on £8k per week... MENTAL money but Wrexham money was in L2 and it's probably likely.

Not a chance Salford are eclipsing that, or us or most of L1 for that matter. £5/6K ish, probably. But £10k, not a chance.

 

No new news on the transfer front

City have been very efficient in recent transfer windows, including this one bringing in 4 if you include Wheatley and disposing of the same amount. But sometimes there is the need to wait if the player you want isn’t immediately available, better than settling for inferior just to placate fans. We need till the end of the window to judge.

 

‘Open minded’ is not a phrase i was hoping for unless it is mind games.

Just under two weeks left in the transfer window and a lot could happen in that time, but decidedly tepid so far
The three new lads looked steady and the ones who have left were bit part players this season
Injured or not, I am surprised Powell has not been moved off the playing quota. One of our stranger signings

 

We're at a point where we need a higher club to bring someone in so we can get who we want.

It will need patience unfortunately.

 

Powell, Byrne, Kelly, Lapslie, Leigh and Kav barring some kind of injury issue probably know that they aren't going to have much of a City career at this point. You'd think at least a handful of them are asking GA if they could leave? Obviously we will need to keep some to fill out a squad, but you'd imagine two or three might well be moved on this month? Powell, Lapslie and one of Kelly or Byrne are probably the ones I'd earmark as most likely to want to leave. Kav added to the list if a striker or two join.

Regarding Wheatley, the signing was reported by the reputable Pete O’Rourke on the 13th. 8 days later still nothing. Maybe we are waiting for his ‘injury’ to heal before announcing but for me something doesn’t seem quite right?
