Somewhat different. GA was coming to the end of his career, Preston would only give him a 1 year contract and Burnley offered 2.

My point is if he can leave Preston after 9 years at the club (also club captain) for their rivals Burnley - he can leave us for Huddersfield if the numbers add up. Its just business...

For what it's worth, betting markets have closed on the Huddersfield job for now. Liam Manning was as short as 1/7 for the role this morning at one stage on BetVictor.

    GA wasn't even long listed.

    Are they rivals?
Even with Blackburn right in the middle of them?

Alexander wasn't to be offered a new deal at Preston and Burnley jumped at the opportunity to sign him

I reckon Manning lined up before they even sacked Grant.

Where has all this GA to the dogs come from
More than likely some puppy lovers trying to cause unrest in our camp just before we play them
They have thrown money and managers down the shitter since their prem days out of an over inflated ego and sense of self importance

Yes well that could happen, and if it was Parky we were talking about, no question he would walk, but GA is a completely different breed.

Sounds that way. The same guy who "leaked" that Grant was going to be sacked hours before the announcement has said that they had already reached out to Manning to see if he was interested. I guess talks have escalated since.

Reading up on his time in the CH and his way never changed. Norwich fans paint images of a very stubborn approach of "i have one way of playing and we will learn it" type of approach, hopefully we can catch them unprepared this Saturday. Manning likes possesion and lots of it, sounds like the Norwich squad weren't good enough to play his way. Bristol fans say something similar, and that matches under him are really boring but when you win you don't really care, when you lose it's so frustrating to not see a team try up the tempo for the win (sounds a bit like our Hughes days at times). Looks like he played the same tactic we currently have more often than not and switched to a 4231 when things were about to end at Norwich. The dogs have lots of wing backs and big lads at the back so i'd imagine he sticks to the wing back tactic.

I know he won't do it because GA has painted himself into a corner but Humphreys would be the ideal player to cover Pointon.

I've never heard of him tbh but I don't take a lot of interest in football higher up the pyramid these days. It's too dull.

Lincoln have lose their back up striker Justin Obikwu, he was on loan from Coventry but QPR have signed him for £500K Played 17 times in L1 this season, bit part player through, never managed 90 mins but scored 3 goals and got 1 assist. Sounds like they are also in the market for a young PL loanee striker to take his slot in the matchday squad.

Well he was a young man with a family, so he had to take the money. He is enjoying his time here, loves the fans and playing at VP. He doesn’t sound like someone who is ready to leave and put a dog lead on?

The only thing Town have over us currently, is a chairman with shallow pockets and a single brain cell
Throwing money at it is no guarantee of success
The right people at the right time providing a good working environment goes a long way
After all only 3 of the 24 teams will gain promotion
It takes time to build that and changing manager at the same rate as you change your socks just doesn’t work

It is difficult to assess his time at Norwich, he lost his baby son in 2024, and I think he took the Norwich job only months after. You never “get over” a traumatic event like losing a child.
