January 26 transfer rumours

Even allowing for Wheatley, we do need cover on both sides for Pointon and Sarcevic.

Being able to take one or both off at times and bring on someone who can make an impact and not just run around a lot will mean they can be more effective and less tired throughout the rest of the games.

We've coped ok with "less strong defenders" coming into the team but we strongly depend on very good left and right wing backs and the two wide attackers. Without quality in those positions we won't win enough games and that means we need quality back ups. For example, we can get by for a game with Kelly covering left centre half. We can't when Kavanagh plays in place of Sarcevic - the drop off is too great.

 

Small rumour that Powell off to Crewe

 

Are Chelsea gunna allow their goldenboy to come here to cover for Sarcevic? I thought we signed White to be that cover. And Wheatley has been playing that role for Northampton.

And I thought the kid was a CF. Are we chasing another jack of all trades, master of none?

Someone on twitter last Friday posted a snap or two of training, i guess in the hunt to see if we sneaked a signing into the session. Anyway, he said everyone was training in the group apart from Powell, who was doing some light training on his own with some staff. Hopefully means he isnt too far away from being healthy enough to pass a medical elsewhere!

 

Hold on.... Pattison, Richards and potentially Powell leaving in one window?....

I feel for our poor treatment room at this difficult time. Losing loved ones is tough!

Don't know but White looked right footed to me or just seemed drawn to the right side more on Saturday so I feel we need another lefty or someone comfortable playing on the left.
