You'd expect he's going to start and want to perform next Saturday, but it's also been 2 years since he last had an assist away from home (Colchester away 13th Jan 2024). Hopefully he gets something next Saturday to get back to form.

Agreed, but teams are also marking him out of games too.

Cardiff were on him in a flash everytime he got near the ball. It's clear that teams have identified him as one of our main creative outlets and are being told to mark him close and not give him space to work.

At the start of the season, he was more of an unknown quantity to teams.

 

That is the first match since his bad foot injury and probably took some effort to get through it. Let's see how he does next match.

I think Wheatley is probably the upgrade to Kav and I was hoping we would get a new number 9 but I’ve got a feeling that cook replacement and our new number 9 will be a summer recruit. Depending on what league we’re in. It might be a good plan as the names touted like jatta may be good enough for league one. However say we go up and we given him a three year deal he definitely not championship ready. But !!! There is a problem that our goals are drying up humpries definitely not a 20 goal man and neither is swan so maybe another striker loan from above just until the summer may be enough.

Hearing Ethan Wheatley was at the game yesterday and the deal to sign him has been done. They are just not announcing it yet due to his current injury make of that what you will.

 

Exactly what I heard. Posted the same about not wanting to announce it due to his injury a couple of days ago.

 

He should have been knowhere near th starting XI unless players where injured or susspended then it should have been the same team at Blackpool.

 

If we can get Jatta and Tanto (loan), that will provide the goals we need.

 

I am.of the belief that Wright isn't good enough - he wasn't good enough in league two, I'm not sure why we keep trying.
