Looks like two decent signings. Neither will break the bank and they are also OOC. If they do well here, id imagine we'd be the first ones in for them in the summer

Wouldn't surprise me, isn't getting game time which Pompey won't be fond of, and can clearly hold his own in League One. Another one who a few on here wrote off. GA clearly doesn't trust him, just hope it means they are lining up a Quality CB replacement as our 4 best CBS (Wright, Tilt, Baldwin, Pennington) are all injury prone. Kelly is as good as we'l get as a 5th choice CB but Bryne is a car crash waiting to happen and we can't rely on him in a promotion push

Lapslie for sure, probably Halliday. Either Byrne goes or McIntyre will be sent back, one of Kav or Powell goes too in my view and another forward comes in along with the Palace lad.

Halliday - Probably to League Two
Powell - will have his contract terminated
Kavannagh - needs game time, will also end up in League Two id imagine
McIntyre - will most likely go back, freeing up a loan spot

    The maybe's
Bryne - Don't see it personally but if a replacement was to be brought in, may be shipped out
Richards - Don't see the benefit if hes never available but don't think his situation is seen as a priority right now
Leigh - only if a suitable replacement come in, would he be allowed to go

25 outfield players. Bobby doesnt need registering so we are 2 over the current allowance.

Lapslie surely off, Halliday possibly off, Powell deregistered, McIntyre sent back to Pompey, Kavanagh out on loan. 5 there to free up space.

Even better then. 1 over with 2 or 3 likely to go.

That's quite a large turnover of players.

You'd expect a striker to come in too.

Does that mean we are going for it this season? Or are we breaking up the squad that made us good

Like it or not who would he play for if he is deemed not good enough by GA and Lucketti, both ex defenders by trade and Lucketti the defensive coach?

Weren't we the oldest squad in the league at the start of the season? Like the idea of refreshing things at this time. If we do get promoted and they do well, then chance of permanent signings.

Not a rumour just me thinking out loud. Is there any strikers out there who have done it at this level but gone up to champ and not getting game time in like last year of contract. With where we are this season would it be worth a small fee for someone in last year on contract? Maybe langstaff as mentioned above?

    Poor signing = Gent
    Good signing = Sharpe

    That’s how it works, right?

Haha, well that's the other thing, Sharpe has obviously had a superb impact at City, but I still don't see many singing Gent's praises. That's pretty unfair. I'd suggest Swan was an out-and-out Sharpe signing, while Tilt was probably a GA signing, but we've made several astute signings and Gent deserves a great deal of credit.

To say at one point people thought he'd only heard of players from the Boro academy, I think we can now put that to bed.

Lets be right its changed a hell of a lot since Sharpe came in and anyone who gives Vadine Oliver a 3 year deal is lucky to be still in a job

Lets not forget Odour on a 3 year deal, Tyler Smith on a 3 year deal, Ash Taylor and Neill Byrne on a 2 year deals ....... and I could go on.

Gent certainly got some unfair stick. No one will get a 100% success rate. Also, pre-Sharpe (pre March 2024), Gent had to work with his hands tied to some degree as we had an owner who believed sustainability could be successful in football and a CEO who believed we didn't need anymore football experience at the club. Thankfully in March 2024, Rupp put a statement out finally ending that mad strategy and the club saw sense and hired someone with expertise of running the footballing side of things, all within 10 days of each other. It is better to judge since the summer of 2024 really when we stopped acting like a circus.
