Andy Cook On Loan to Grimsby

IF we are to trust the club science then they know best? Maybe he was never really near the first team squad after all. I get the sentimental aspect but, as it stands, we are in a good position league wise. As a fan I want the club to progress and if that means Cook leaving, as long as we have adequate back up, then it makes good sense.

Over the years we have lost good strikers and recovered. Bobby, Hawley, Futcher, Ormondroyd, McCarthy, Thorne, Ward, Hanson , Wells, Cook to name a few.

 

Possibly but Alexanders no fool he will have weighed up the situation with Cook taking advice from the medical people and then watching himself in training himself before selecting him.
I get it with regards no sentiment in football, but surely what your suggesting is exactly that if Alexander didn't pick him in the match day squad because he had a move lined up, I'd hope he was not selected because Alexander didn't believe Cook could do a job either starting the game or coming on later in the game, to be perfectly honest after the Mansfield debacle keeping Cook out of the match day squad was a massive gamble as we needed (as we've done in the past) to show it was just a blip by winning our next game.
But hey all about fans opinions Ann and so far its difficult to argue when were sat 3rd in League One with games in hand over several of the chasing pack.

 

Your correct we don't know, but as he's not been in the match day squad since we played Bolton on Tuesday 2 December (then only on the bench) I'm not sure why Alexander would change his mind and pick him.

 

Absolute legend. Saved us from relegation and gave us some fantastic moments. Good luck Andy.

Was given starts against Cheltenham and Doncaster. Did nothing. Was given full 2nd halfs against Bolton, Lincoln and Burton. Did nothing. Came off the bench in 5 further games. Did nothing.

Credit for setting Pattison up against Rotherham and the goals against Grimsby and Newcastle but wasnt enough for GA or the club to be paying him as a top earner.

Age, injury, step up in class....we saw enough to see his time was up IMO.

They probably have futures at the club as they arent 35 and out of contract in the summer. I also feel Cook was probably deemed 'expensive' for his current output.

 

Ahhh Super Sean, my first City love. I held him in the same regard as my other goal scoring heroes from that era like Lineker, Rush and Romario.

Similar City career to Cook in some regards, surrounded by shite for the most part but you could always rely on him for goals.

PS Peter Thorne doesnt get enough love.
