January 26 transfer rumours

Dont know if anyone has mentioned this or it relates to us but heard a little whisper that daniel kanu (another loan striker at Walsall) who has scored quite a few for them (double figures i think) has interest from league one for 2nd half of season loan, anyone know about him?

 

Could be that there's something behind the rumours for these two.

 

Looks like the 2 rumoured Newcastle lads are on their way.

Also, Andy Cook spotted at Grimsbys training ground this morning.

 

If we are after RWB cover that could mean Halliday is going? Perhaps taxi driver for cookie to Grimsby ?

Saw him against Norwich yesterday,hardly involved at all, I think there will be better targets to look at.

 

Surely more likely that Richards might be leaving? If Halliday goes we'll need cover for Neufville.

 

Ashby is a right back, one position we're actually quite well covered in with quality.

 

23 and 24 years old so not youth loans
One on loan at Orient and called or sent back
Maybe unsettled so far from home
Right age for me, but I prefer permanent signings
Don’t like developing other clubs players
Though we have done well with the loan market on occasion

 

Be happy with the 2 Newcastle lads.

Both have a fair amount of loan experience and not exactly young kids.

If these happen, I would imagine we will bin interest in the Palace kid now.

 

Ashby is a right back

 

We are better off getting loans in to cement our standing in the league.
Prices are vastly inflated in the january window and we would be better served saving funds for the summer IMO.
Of course, you can pick up a gem from L2 or Non-league for a reasonable fee(still inflated in Jan), but it's a massive gamble.

 

Where have you seen that he’s been spotted at their training ground?

 

Callum Kavanagh to Walsall on loan is something I've just read on another forum. Same forum that says Cook was at Grimsby's training ground this morning.

Due to their ages, they won't be making it at Newcastle. I presume they are close to the end of their contracts without looking. So it could be seen more as a trial, I'd rather not risk long-term deals if they don't turn out to be good enough, and if they are, then they are signings that can likely become permanent.

 

Walsall were in for Cook but he'd already decided on Grimsby is what i heard so it makes sense Walsall are looking for a different forward

 

Mixed opinion on Joe wright with MK fans some had him player of the season others didn’t like him at all

 

Craig hope im sure is 1 of the journos who talks to eddie howe pre game for newcastle every week so I'd say this is reliable. Hmm Ashby is definitely a right back, wonder if that means halliday us leaving or maybe a bid from champ for neufville? Joe white i can see this working as cover in midfield. Just upfront for me left if these go through especially if cook leaves as reported

 

Ashby is a RWB .

 

Perhaps he will play RWB and Neufville will switch to the left?

He did play LWB for Wimbledon last season as well as the right.

Not sure if he was good and its not ideal but could work.

Or perhaps the Newcastle lad is an option for RCB as Alexander wants someone more solid than Byrne/Wright and to compete with Pennington?
