Might need to revise it, pronto now he’s seemingly returning!

 

We’d need a striker even if Cook stays, seen so many people saying we need a good replacement but I wouldn’t call it a replacement at all. In terms of league action, it’s been over a year since he did anything due to his injury. It maybe harsh but if it was any other player we wouldn’t have such clamour for a replacement. We just need a striker that improves us in that area, Cook staying or going doing change that.

Sarc and Bobby have played together half of the last 12 games. They are both our top scorers.
Hence the reason for a quality 10 of the same or better calibre.
We currently have Tyreik Wright (0 lg goals in 21 apps) covering the 10 role or Kav who isn't that player.
It's vital we get a quality 10 in.

 

Would be interesting to find out why Palace and player are hesitant about the move, the only reasons I can think of is that they might be wanting to see if a Championship club comes in for him or they are unsure if he will get regular start with how well Pointon and Sarcevic. Sounds like if this does happen it will be late in the window.

A tough one for the club as he is clearly a top target for the window so it's a case of deciding whether to move for the 2nd option or hold our nerve and hope we get the move done at a later date.

You are thinking way too big. It will likely be a Youth loan of the Costelloe / Sanderson /Mellon mould. Or a player like Humphrys and Swann that they hope they can coach to be better than they have been in their careers so far.

For all the improvements in the transfer market we still seem to be lacking in the ability to find a star striker.

Andy Cook coming from Mansfield ?, he was having a poor season but started scoring for us and finished leading goal scorer for that half season with us I believe,

 

Subjective as to if you think he falls into the category Park was talking about. I think more of a striker that you see the potential to do something but hasn't yet. Cook had a decent career before he came to us and it clicked.

We need to take a look at Notts County taking a punt on Langstaff from Gateshead, Jatta from abroad and even Dennis after a spell at Carlisle they seem to have a conveyor belt going whereas we find a goalscorer then have to wait ten years for the next one.

Got a feeling that the goals will start to flow again but saying that our priority now has to be CF if not for this season then deffo for next

 

Cook has certainly had his best playing days with us fans of other clubs he has played for often derive him

 

That last paragraph has been the case for years and is exactly why we shouldn’t be letting Cook go.
A youth loan to replace Cook is not good enough.

Let's look at Notts County's record of finding strikers that don't get them promoted to League 1 and produces only one that goes up to a higher league.
I've lost count of the Jatta rumours that never bear fruit.
Let's look at our own record instead of getting promoted and then been in the top 3 and challenging the season after by recruiting players who graft hard for their club and fit into the 3-4-2-1 system that has served us so well.
