He's been injured a bit this season but there's a big difference in the Stevenage way of playing when he's in the team.

Him and White are very good league one midfielders I'd say - they both like driving forward with the ball - like Patterson did but have better control.

All that said, it would need to be a good offer to get Stevenage to sell when they don't need to so I can't see it

 

Not a dig at Sibley at all - but I'm hoping we aim much higher when it comes to loans. The Manchester Clubs, Liverpool, Newcastle etc have great young talent on the fringes of their first team, who surely they'd want to embrace the idea of a 5 month promotion push in front of 25k fans every other week, and at a club that has genuine stability and great morale. We also have great case studies that prove loan players do well here of late. We should be really ambitious in that market.

Only to go by the Under 21's we've played in the EFL trophy recently, I was unimpressed by any of the opponents
Newcastle, Manchester City or Everton played in the last 3 years
That said I'm sure there is another Jenson Metcalf out there to be found.

 

There's a wide range of talent at that level. I'm referring specifically to the lads who are knocking on the door of their first team - possibly even those who've had an appearance or two, but who are unlikely to feature in the remainder of the season.

You might be getting your wish..... we are being linked to Newcastle midfielder Joe White on loan. He's turned 23 recently, was on loan at Orient but the loan was cut short along with Tayos. He managed 6 apps over all comps, not a lot of minutes. Last season he was at MK Dons on loan, 34 games (23 starts) in midfield and managed 6 goals and 2 assists. Looks like his deal is up this summer. Described as great technically but needed to work on his physical game.

 

Hope that’s a permanent move and we can improve him and bring him along like Metcalfe not sure of a loan because we need better quality now to hit the ground running

 

We didn’t undervalue players deliberately . We were keeping the wolves from the door and buying clubs knew it so pulled our pants down .

Picked up an injury at the end of August after getting off the bench in 3 of the first 4 games. He got back to fitness around November and couldn't get a spot back in the side.
