They sold up at the start of the season but hadn’t been running the club for quite a while. No surprise really - Rupp was a great steward for the club by not taking the money and sticking by his instincts that they didn’t have a clue.

Its possible part of any pay amount would be complicated by medical insurance.

At present, the club may only be paying part of his wages and part may be being covered by medical insurance. Periodically, those covered by medical insurance are offered bulk payments to settle but they can decline and continue to be paid whatever the cover allows for.

We'll probably just end up paying whatever we've contracted to pay him, helping him rehabilitate and not registering him because he's unlikely to play much if at all.

 

Someone posted an article a couple of years ago that he dealt in high end houses, expensive cars watches, boats.

 

The 22 squad limit is scrapped during the transfer window but the club needs to resubmit their 22 man squad at the start of February.

 

Yeah they talked about this at length on the last Take Me Home podcast. It allows for all the comings and goings during the window, only after it ends do you need to be within the limits

We need to try and get Powell off the wage bill some how, complete waste of a signing in my opinion
Even if he is on some kind of pay as you play deal, he is still taking up a slot that could be better filled

 

TBF we knew exactly what we were getting when we signed him and one would assume we had provisions in place - Sharpe isnt stupid.

Im guessing we saw an opportunity for a short term body (whilst Cook and Kav were out). Stockport will have paid Powell off (he is happy) and youd think we offered him terms which protect the budget given his injury history but satisfy Powells commitment to training and been a part time squad member.

He is taking up a regsitration place but until he is taking a players place then I see no rash urgency. He may come in useful around March/April. Who knows.

He has not been useful as a footballer for a while now
It was an odd signing at the time and has not proved fruitful.
We have signed far too many players with long term injury issues and i can not think of that many that have really worked out . Brad Halliday has done very well i will admit

 

The powers that be will make the best decision for the club.

 

No doubt, and the decisions they have made recently have been more good than bad

I don’t think Rupp is going to sell unless he was offered silly money, but even then I don’t think he will. He caught the City bug, and wants further success just like the rest of us. If you make mistakes ie Rahic you learn from them and don’t repeat.
