I have said before, why are we not talking to people about owning the club? Rupp wants to sell, there is no dispute about that. City are in a great position at the moment, a team in a large city in England, who at the moment play in front of 20k plus fans every home game, and are in a position to be promoted to the Championship if all goes well. We should have buyers knocking on our door.

 

Something in this am sure. It’s more than a sponsorship meeting to be some blatant with the posting. Or maybe it’s such a great sponsorship that this is the intended build up.

 

Could be absolutely nothing and it's just a footballing trip to see how others operate. But for someone like Sparks who only usually talks in waffle and soundbytes and doesn't usually give much away about the club, to be so publicly showing he is out and about in the football world and so far out the usual area is odd.

£500k for a striker who is out of contract in the summer and has 25 goals from 100 games for Fleetwood seems a bit crazy to me? He struggled in L1 before and has been decent to good in L2.

 

We might well be.
The club keep everything very close and that’s how it should be until something concrete is in place

 

I really hope the Kent rumours are false do we really need to waste money on another player who has injury problems aint we had more than enough issues regarding injury prone players over the years

Looks like Seattles main sponsor is Providence (health care company, sound a bit sketchy) and they have a large $$$ agreement with the sounders but also last year they additionally purchased the naming rights for the new Sounders training complex along with another health care company (Swedish) but their new offices and training base is called the "Providence/Swedish Performance Center & Clubhouse".

Wonder if Providence might be the mentioned new sponsor and they are showing Ryan around the new state of the art offices and training base they are naming? Although not sure how much market growth in the state will come from a partnership with a health care company........

 

Is Ryan Kent that much of a marquee signing that Sparks flies out to talk to him? Ludicrous.

How do you know we arent? Its hardly something the club will put out in the bantams newsletter or on Facebook.

 

Which is why there is probably nothing in it.

 

Why would a company who has little business in Europe and from what I can see, nothing in the UK, want to sponser an English League 1 club?

 

For exactly the same reason that 2 Hollywood Actors buy a small Welsh Club. There are loads of equally surprising purchases right across the EFL. All it needs is right place and right time.
All that said I do think we are over speculating on this however odd the trip to Seattle appears to be

 

The talk of American sponsorship has been around for months hasn’t it. Did it even get a mention from Sparks on one of his podcast appearances?

We must be well on with talks and something has been signed if he’s dropping pictures on socials?

 

Bored rich boys want to replicate what Wrexham’s owners have done? Americans have invested in Carlisle and Gillingham, sure there are many others. We should be a much better investment proposition than either of those! 20k crowds, flourishing commercial side, challenging for promotion to second tier……but ultimately at the stage now where we need significant investment if we did go up.

 

Wasn’t Provident a big loan type company along with employee workplace sick pay schemes . I’m sure I paid into them when I was in my apprenticeship in the early 70’s . It’s certainly a similar name?
