Sounds like Rotherham are bringing in Duncan Watmore on a free, he's been training with Sheff Weds for a while. It seems like Sheff were waiting EFL approval to bring in some new faces, but their keeper is about to be sold to a Ligue 1 side and their left back has been recalled by Man United. So it looks like Sheff will have to look elsewhere for their few approved signings and Watmore is on his way to Rotherham instead. Might be in to make his debut at VP at the weekend?

 

I don’t think Shep is good enough on the ball. Did well in League 2 but struggling at this level according to Barnsley fans - one bloke on FB said he’d give him away he’s been that poor.

 

You could be right, but he has never played at L1 level. I'd be interested to know why he is an excellent wing back at this level

I think people are confusing Richards with James Meredith in their minds because he was never that good. Richards had spells and sometimes looked like a player is in there somewhere, but overall, he isn't that good and has never shown anything in his career to have so much praise. However, there is still time for him to become a good L1 player

 

A few folk on here think Wright is terrible and that we should get rid. They complain about him in every match thread.

I'm just showing them the things he does. Maybe things some people don't notice or appreciate when watching a game of football, but that do add value to the team.

 

Probably just gone for a Starbucks - why don't we start posting 100's of comments on what we think Ryan's go to drink is? It'll be a damn sight more interesting than the current crap in this thread!

To me he’s another Gilliead. Neat and tidy but scared to shoot, take a man on or just go for it. The odd times he does you can see there’s a player there. Would he get another league 1 club, probably not in my opinion.

Please don't. He has returned to Stoke for rehabilitation having picked up an injury that will keep him out for a while.

Another player from Stoke mentioned in this thread, Emre Tezgel, has also been recalled to Stoke from Crewe, again because of injury.

 

Was he alone or as he was flying from Germany was he accompanied by herr Rupp. What’s his Twitter handle by the way

If you listen to the latest Take Me Home podcast on BBC Sounds, Jamie Raynor answers this question near the end.

It turns out that there is a moratorium on the maximum 22 outfield players over 21 years old during the January transfer window, to allow clubs to do business without having to constantly de-register or ship out players before bringing new ones in. So, until the end of January, we can bring in as many new players as we like and register them to play for us without having to ditch any existing squad members.
However, in early February, all clubs have to re-submit their registered squad list containing no more than 22 over 21 years outfield players. So, if at that point we haven’t shipped out as many players as we’ve brought in we would have to deregister the difference in order to stay within the squad limit rule.

 

I agree on the Gilliead comparison. A useful utility type player that can fill in multiple roles. Gilliead got loads of stick on here too.

He left us from League 2 and went onto to be 1st choice in a League 1 team with 40+ appearances. Shows what people know.

 

I don’t know but he’s up to something he knows full well those pics will be picked and shared with fans to speculate. He’s wants to create speculation/buzz on this he’s not niavley put this out thinking no one will see this or share it.

I am not sure Gilliead is a good example here. Shrewsbury were desperately short of cash and players when he was recruited, and the team was eventually relegated to League 2 that season. Gilliead is now on loan at National League Carlisle.
