January 26 transfer rumours

According to the Deck Louie Barry could be heading to L1 on loan although we aren't mentioned in the article maybe that's where the rumour I was told about came from originally.

Personally, yes. Mullin may have struggled last season in League 1 but he has the quality that we seem to be looking for these days, he knows what it takes to get promoted.

Experienced, has been in promotion winning teams in the last couple of seasons and clearly knows where the net is.

I’d much rather Mullin than Powell put it that way and to be honest, I don’t see much else out there that comes close to what he has done that would reasonably be available. I could be wrong though..

If Powell was playing up front every week then you'd have a point.

 

Paul Mullin has 10 goals in 66 games at League 1 level, he's always been a good League 2 striker and that's about it. I'd be staying well clear of him and we're much better than that these days.

 

If I remember correctly, Powell was seen as a striker/attacking midfielder? Been ages since he played though so I could be wrong!

 

Tayo has had his loan at Orient cancelled. Cant see us going there unless Richards' deal is done.

How has he done at Orient
I liked the lad, young enough to still kick on

 

I thought Orient improved when he went off, before then we were the better team. I thought he was defensively a bit weak last season but made up for it with his offensive work.

We are third in league 1 now, not fighting it out in league 2 and IMO, no disrespect to him but that's his level. 2 failed spells at this level would back that up, it's a firm no from me.

He was an unwanted loanee at Stockport last season before joining us.

I think Orient were playing him as a more traditional full back as opposed to a wing back, which seems a bit daft to me. You only have to watch a game or two of the lad and see he's a better attacker than a defender and a LB in a back 4 is probably not his strength.

Tayo did a job last season and was a likeable lad, but I never saw a reason to re-sign him.

I wouldn't like him to come here now and play back up to Touray, either, I dont think it would be fair. He's 22, that's a job for a teenager.

 

Sent back from Stockport last season and Orient this at League 1 level. No room for sentimentality when third in the table, we need to improve or not bother in that position as we already have two who can play there that are fit and one injured.

 

He did pick up a bad injury while at City.

 

Touray kept him out of the side in his 1st loan spell at Stockport last year. I really liked Tayo but he wouldn't improve our team at this point. Palace will want him to get minutes on the pitch so he won't be sent here as a back up. They will send him somewhere to be used as a wing back I would have thought.
