Although I agree, I would like to see him sit this one out and be available for at least one of the games rather than none.

 

Me too, it's too high a risk. Metcalfe and one of Sibley or Leigh for the sake of a game. Think he played Baldwin there once before? Let Pattison have one more game? Lapslie played all his career at CM before coming here.

All are worth not having Power banned. Have him on the bench if need be but it's a risk we dont need to take.

 

Actually looking at the forecast it’s doubtful we will be able to play next week.

 

There wasn't an update on him today but after the Mansfield game the latest was that he couldn't kick a ball due to the pain so I wouldn't be surprised if he's out for at least another couple of weeks.

 

If he got a yellow card against Cardiff he would then be missing the Huddersfield and Lincoln matches which are at very least just as big so I'm not sure there's much benefit in giving him a rest against Rotherham.

 

Remember BB , his history of injury “ duration” has twice in succession turned out to be much longer than originally anticipated . I believe you are right on that basis.. Back for the Huddersfield game perhaps?

I agree, its nonsense worrying about possible bookings and suspensions for certain games. Who knows, Power may go until next month before picking up another.

Surely they'd have done this in Nov/Dec if it was for extra monies? It's not like we are in a different boat as we were 5/6 weeks back. Guessing it's for something next season? Would be a bit mental to adjust your budgets during a transfer window and potentially altering the targets people have been working on, rather than doing it weeks/months before.

It also seems like this trip to Germany is based on someone ‘spotting’ Sparks boarding a Lufthansa to Germany. I can’t see anything reported by Parker or Raynor?

I think Sparks has said before he flies out there fairly often for face to face catch ups on the club. I guess it's like a quarterly thing? Who knows! I guess most "urgent" things would be a Skype call these days?

He needs someone on the blower to Palace and see what service station this loanee is stuck at been close to signing for about a week!

 

I'd imagine it will be a pre-planned meeting and it seems sensible time to have one now that the Christmas period is over and we really know where we stand especially as a lot can change over 6 weeks from late November until now. 6 weeks ago Wimbledon were in the play off race and now they are closer to the relegation fight. Stockport have gone from a top 2 race to clinging onto a play off place.
This will probably be about finalising the exact amounts and possibly if we can look at increasing the budget a little further.

Yeah could well be, just seems a little daft to do it now. Even if they have a budgets meeting a month ago, I cant imagine the budgets will be that significantly different if we were 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc? Even if they said we lost out over Christmas and new year and ended up 5th/6th/7th, i cant imagine the budgets would be hugely different, but also would and should have been set in stone far before Jan 1st so everyone knew what boat we were in?

 

Just an off the track idea, what if there's a new target opportunity and sparks has gone to ask for the money to complete the deal, or try? Budget may have already been set, but an opportunity has arisen and needs to speak face to face?

Who knows... The fact he meets face to face is a good thing. They must have a god relationship.
