It’s an utter fallacy that these “ kids” are brilliant players for the next 15 or so years , just because they were raised in a Prem Academy . For every one that indeed develops there are several dozen that don’t . Their turnover of 8-18 year olds is horrendous .

Dont see us spending that kind of money on a player who only has 14 non league goals to his name. Unproven at L1 and would become pretty redundant in the Championship should we go up. Thats a big jump....

But there’s a ceiling on how many players can be registered in a first team squad. So, surely, if we bring in more loans, unless they’re youngsters, we’d have to de-register some existing squad players whilst still paying their wages, wouldn’t we?

 

It doesn't sound like we are close to any other signings, Alexander mentioned that the will take a little bit of time and they have to decide if they want to continue with one particular player. Reading between the lines that player could be Hindolo Mustapha now that we've got in Sibley which means we've got Sarcevic and Pointon as the 1st choice for the no 10 role then Sibley and Wright for the left side, it's just whether we want another right footed option.

 

He was basically saying with so many games in a short space of time he hasn't had any time to focus on any incomings or outgoings except Sibley that they spoke to a couple of weeks ago.

Sounded like there'll be lots of conversations this week, which means movement may only happen the week after.

GA clearly trying to move on Pattison and Cook by not selecting them. Lapslie and Leigh look like 2 more that are available but Im guessing he could find a space for Leigh in the squad if he doesnt go.

I doubt we will be short of takers for those 4, whether its a small pay off or loan deals. Outgoings to create space for incomings shouldnt be a problem.

Surpsied if Byrne goes, GA seems to really like him. He wont be here next season though.

Powell must be on a pay as you play so he may stay around for now.

 

Anyone know the extent of Pointons injury ? Also Power is going to get booked next week and miss the Hudds and Cardiff game. I can just see it.

 

Id sacrifice Power next week so that doesnt happen. He is crucial for both those fixtures.
