I do think we are setting Kavanagh up for failiure by playing him as a 10, we saw at the start of last season when he played as deeper striker he struggled with decision making when going forward with the ball so he was always going to struggle in a division higher in a role where that was the key part.
We saw him the 2nd half of last season where he was at his best leading the line and leading the press.
Personally I wouldn't give up on him yet as he's still young and i think a lot forget his only 2 or 3 months older than Pointon. For me as long as we've got enough numbers I'd give him another year contract now and loan him out to a league 2 side where he will play as a striker then we can reevaluate in the summer

 

This cannot go unchallenged. Both Kav and Wright worked their backsides off today. Sure, they didn't get a hat-trick each, which would probably still not satisfy those who want to find fault, but they played their part in a great away win. I'd prefer to trust the manager's picks than yours. Get your heads out of your arses. We'll definitely lose another match or two before the end of the season so you can gleefully post your particular hatred. This was a great win and everyone played their part. In Alexander we Trust. In fans we cheer.

 

To go from that sham at Mansfield to this just shows the job GA is doing a huge turnaround i hope a game that changes our season going forward.
Blackpool aint no mugs and to go play like that was brilliant had we even lost today i would have still been happy at how we have played

Tough month incoming but come the end of Jan and we are still in there then its gonna be an exciting end to the season

 

I'll give Wright a pass. Playing the exhausting wing back role making it your third match in six days, means you're not going to be as sharp as normal.

I love Kav, but no idea why he's playing. Swan and Humphreys could link up easily and preserve the effectiveness of the three up front.

 

Disagree about Kav. He worked his backside off to cover for Sarc. I suspect this was the plan. Keep Sarc higher up the pitch (he's old) so Kav was back behind him but would catch up when Sarc held things up. We have a system and everyone has a job. I'll bet GA was happy with what Kav contributed. We won as a team.

Having Tilt back makes a difference. His attitude and approach must rub off on those around him. Gifted, he's not but gives everything and the physical presence is immense. You'd hate to play against him... even his eyes scare the shit out of me

I think this is a very sensible and balanced assessment of a young player who still has promise. He needs a solid run of games out on loan - probably league 2 or even national league where he can build up confidence; develop his physicality and play as a “ fox in the box” and on the last shoulder. He isn’t ready for that at to end of league 1 right now but he may well get there.

 

I presume Blackpool are happy to turn up the chance to earn thousands of pounds .........

 

No midweek game so we should be better physically than we have been recently, maybe Bobby back and a new face, although Alexander was playing new players down.

 

It’s hard to back a three legged horse and Swan …. He scored . I think your opinion might be lonely ? He even sounds out of his depth on the radio as well as live at Mansfield !

 

I wouldnt criticise his workrate but I just dont feel he has the ability we need at this level. That may be due to lack of confidence and limited game time, and if he were to come good I'd be delighted to eat humble pie! I just don't see it though and wouldn't be surprised to see him loaned out this window.
It was a fantastic win though and everyone put in a massive shift.

He can’t sweep behind the defence simply because he doesn’t have pace and that’s why he won’t come out of the box .

We are setting Kav up to fail by selecting him at all . He doesn’t have the required skills . Let’s not beat around the bush here rather than suggesting we play differently just to suit him . He’s L2 at best , sorry .
