Big game for Kav today. Surprised to see him in starting XI but I assume it’s about giving Humps a rest?

 

I mentioned this on a thread a week or 2 ago but I'm certain Pattison has lost the tactical trust of Alexander and once you lose that it is incredibly hard to come back especially with how we play where tactical discipline is massive. There were 2 or 3 home games where I saw and heard Alexander shouting a lot at Pattison for jumping too early or not being in the right position. If he didn't get the injury against Barnsley he would have come off at half time, the Blackpool game earlier there was a lot of instructions then the Exeter game was the final straw and I said after that game he would struggle to get a start any time soon although I didn't think it would be this drastic that he would be told he is free to leave.

 

If I was Andy I think I would just sit on his current contract and see what turns up at the end of the season....

He will get a much better contract if he goes somewhere and shows he can still do it

 

I get what your saying with regards formation and tactical discipline, but after the first 15 minutes at Mansfield that went out of the window and at times mainly in defence we looked like a team that had not played together before, very few were anywhere near their usual standards.

 

This doesn't really stack up when they're showing all the premier league 3pm kick offs.

Seems like they've just made the rules up as they've gone along.

 

He has tightened the defence for this match and picked hard runners up front a team designed to stop Blackpool

 

I think he'll only get a good contract if a team is desperate enough to risk a large gamble on an aging player who's just back from and ACL injury. Those clubs have to be somewhat careful with their money and it might take til late in the window before someone blinks. I expect City and Alexander are gonna be honest with and helpful to Cook but I don't expect a resolution to this any time soon.

 

Why are they watering the pitch? Surely it will freeze?

For the Premier League this is a normal weekend so Sky have the rights to the games today like they do on all other Sunday's but they don't have rights for Saturday 3pm which is why the 2 3pm games weren't on TV yesterday pr the Saturday before. It's also why the Premier League had to play most games on the weekend not Boxing Day as they the broadcasters have paid for a minimum amount of weekends and if Boxing Day was used the minimum wouldn't be met this year.
