Don’t think McIntyre will be a starter, he looks comfortable when the ball is in front of him, but has a distinct lack of pace when turning, I expect he will return to Pompey as soon as Tilt and Baldwin are fit again ( assuming Baldwins mystery injury isn’t overtures from anyone else)

 

The lad has tons of pace and ability,getting him to use it is another matter,right or left shouldn't matter.cutting in on the right and shooting with your left is ideal,but will he do it, thats the problem

 

Less pace than Byrne and Kelly and Tilt? I dont think so. McIntyre as a defender is light years ahead of Byrne and Kelly and its only Alexander's stubbornness and love for shite Irish players that stops him getting in the team. Unless someone knocks some sense in to GA then we're plagued with a shite defence till Pennington comes back and Tilt is at full fitness

 

What a waste of a loan.McIntyre shouldn't be stuck on the bench he's not put a foot wrong in my opinion when he's had limited starts he's always impressed.
It's certainly a strange decision by our manager to leave him out in the cold

 

Think it's an attitude thing, half the time he plays like he simply can't be arsed.

I'm amazed for someone that preaches the club values so much, Alexander appears ok with it.

He hasn’t got tons of pace and hasn’t got tons of ability on the left either . He doesn’t use it because he hasn’t got it . If you think playing him on the right ADDS to these “ abilities” like it did at Mansfield , cripes we are in trouble .
It was a disaster , as I said yesterday to protect the lack of Byrnes pace and ability , let’s be honest.

I judge it looking at games right now, Byrne is shite and Kelly is shite 2 3rds of our defence are shite. Baldwin has improved but still hasn't gained my trust. You can talk stats all you want but your eyes dont deceive you. We have 3 good cbs 1 whos improved from shite to average 1 who never gets a shot and 2 who are so bad I wouldn't play them in my Sunday team. If that impresses you then thats your failing

Anyone heard anything regarding Louie Barry joining on loan someone has mentioned him to me in the last hour. He is returning to villa from sheff utd by all accounts.

 

That would be a great signing if true. Apparently was on the verge of signing for Hull in a £3.5 mil move in the summer but it collapsed.

 

Reminds me of that Mellon signing last year. I'll leave you to decide if that's a good think.

 

Stoke were strongly linked with him last month and I can imagine other Championship clubs will look at him. If he was to drop into League 1 then Stockport would be the obvious move. He's played most of his career either as a LW or in a front 2 so I'm not really sure where he fits in our side as we don't play with either. I can't see him being a lone striker, it's very unlikely we drop Pointon and I don't see him joining to sit on the bench.

But 0 in 13 at championship for Hull and Sheffield utd
If coming back to league 1 Stockport would seem more realistic

 

The defence is the main reason we are up in the top three although that generally involves the whole team defending as a unit. But generally we don't look like conceding three like we did at Mansfield
