To be fair to Baldwin since he's come back in we've conceded 3 in 6 games he's been involved in, he came on early second half at Bolton after being battered first half. In that period we won 4, drawn 1 and lost 1. Prior to him coming back into the team at Bolton his last game was at Cardiff where he played 72 minutes before going off. It's not a coincidence we concede less as a team when he's playing. I love you Monkey but you're backing the wrong horse here, the stats prove it.

Talking of clean sheets, I read today that Sam Walker has kept the most clean sheets in the calendar year of 2025 in the top 4 leagues in England.

We could upgrade on every single player technically
But currently we only need a few tweaks to hopefully push us over the line
If we can get an upgrade at centre half, then Byrne and Kelly are the two most likely to miss out . Both steady defenders and good cover for us currently, but neither can pass wind on a regular basis, let alone a football

 

Baldwin wins.

 

Walker has been an inspired signing. Not just on the pitch. But also off it, comes across as a pretty humble guy.

Walker is one of the signings that truly proved me wrong, didn’t expect much from him and wasn’t impressed by his debut against Colchester. He’s been a fantastic signing.

 

Go on Monkey, say it. Just admit it. Get it off your chest. Admit you were wrong about Baldwin and our defence and have been for the last year and a half. Just say it "I was wrong. Baldwin is good, our defence is good"

Honestly, you'll feel so much better, you can just get on with your life then. You'll be able to just enjoy the good form we're in rather than getting tense every time Baldwin makes a raking cross field ball in case it finds its target and you have to wait another 10 mins for him to miss one so you can spend a week going on about it

 

Expecting a tough game today.

Mansfield will have more quality than other teams we've played in December and will be a big test after a morale boosting win last time out. Impressive win at Bolton.

Would love to be 3 nil up at half time but, let's be honest, it will be quite tight.

Players need to be up for this and how Alexander juggles his starting team and uses his subs will be key I feel.

That's embarrassing to be fair. It's an example of a great recovery tackle don't get me wrong but he only had to make it because he was completely asleep in the first instance.
