I was going to comment at half time that Touray is playing too deep - almost like a left back rather than a left wing back but he was right up the pitch for that flick on there.

 

Bobby is injured unfortunately. Won't be coming out for the second half.

If Humphrys gets injured then at least it'll highlight how important he is to the team. Staggering to see how little his work and general attacking impact goes unnoticed. Easy to say after he's scored but even before that I was amazed to see people still knocking him. If we score again he'll be involved like he always is.

 

Poor for 40 mins then we came alive. Great time to score but the performance needs to pick up 2nd half.

Can't see Bobby coming back out.

 

Not at all convinced. His hold up play is very, very poor. Clearly has technical ability, but he's still an enigma for me, and a quality attacking addition in January is a must.

 

Definitely a red after seeing the replays. Straight leg, studs up and made contact with Pointon about a foot off the floor. Can't really be anything else if the ref had the benefit of a replay.

 

It was a very good, composed finish. About the only way he could have scored as he'd have run out of space if he'd tried to go round him

That said, we're lucky to be 1 up. Wigan have done well. Set up solid, slowed things down to take the sting out of the game, played mainly on the counter but built up pressure and missed a very good chance.

We need to do better second half. Need Touray further up the pitch. Too much of our play is in front of 10 Wigan defenders with zero threat.

He is very selfish and often makes stupid choices, which sometimes will derail a good chance. His goal return is pretty awful too, with the amount of chances he gets

 

Yeah, I'm far from convinced by him. Will Swann would be my pick generally, but if Humphry keeps scoring it's his shirt to lose.

 

We are lucky but should've had a tap in after Humphrys fires across the 6 yard box. Tbh I couldn't care less how many goals Humphrys scores, he's instrumental in almost every chance we get. Take him away and replace him with a striker who requires 'service' but scores more goals than him then we could well find goals drying up across the team. However, it seems a lot of our fans would prefer us to score less goals as a team in preference to a 20 goal a season man.

 

Not for me. Gives up possession far, far too easily and plays too often with his head down.

He'll impact games because he's got undoubted ability and could be great in a two or wider in a 3, but as an out and out centre forward it can leave the team desperately short of an outlet.
