He tried as you know Kev, but that's as far as the clowncil would let him go. He even offered to buy the surrounding houses at over the value so that could be done.
Shame really as the stand still looks unfinished.
When the TV cameras show it, it really doesn't look good.

I’m still surprised some don’t understand basic stadium logistics - especially at Valley Parade!

The rate in which Wigan sold the initial allocation was as expected - quick. Wigan bear the financial burden of any seats that remain unsold thereafter. We can’t disregard the additional allocation due to FA ruling.

Whilst this might be frustrating in the event all home sections sell out, we need to remind ourselves that we didn’t sell all home sections against Huddersfield, for example.

For us to make the decision to offer Wigan just the Bradford End, we must be confident of:

    1. Wigan being happy with the allocation, despite it being 1,250 lower than what we are expected to offer
    2. Selling all home areas (c.22,900 seats)
    3. Authorities - and them being kind enough not to bend us over a barrel with additional costs because the logistical layout has changed beyond their recognition!

Just over 250 tickets currently on sale
So around 20500 home sales and a crowd over 22000+
Obviously many season ticket holders won’t be there 3 , next to me, but let’s hope we get back to winning ways

Think the club are missing a trick and obviously revenue when playing these big occasions, as happens more readily the more successful we become. They obviously take ST sales into account but on Boxing Day they'll be a number that can't make it through family commitments etc. I wonder if the club have thought of a resale of seats that will be known to be empty?

Unless they go through the process of contacting 16,000 season holders and sifting the replies then reselling the empties it will never happen Andy. Unless it’s mandatory one must attend it’s difficult to administer for sure . I’m not really bothered what tourist clubs in the Prem do . A season is a prepaid seat …. What if people change their minds on matchday , sit on someone’s knee ;) lol.?

    As I said before
More progress could result in the stadium being a home sell out. Not there yet, but this is where the grounds limitation start to show
The Bradford end could be at least 50% empty
Maybe moving the segregation on a block in the Midland road, would free the Bradford end 1500 seats for city fans, with a few improvements to the facilities in there
City fans behind both goals as well, which might stop this turning us around at kick off.

Never actually been in that end 50 years on the kop next season time flys when you’re enjoying yourself
Not sure the word enjoyment is correct for the majority of my time at city. Far more lows than highs
That’s why we need to enjoy this current ride

Just bought 4 in the Norman Corner - only part available and I reckon it’s down to 50ish left. I was waiting for the kids to tell me if they wanted to come along - I checked at 6pm and booked around 7.30pm and approximately 100 had gone in that time… if not tonight, probably sold out tomorrow unless there’s any ‘jiggery-pokery’ possible with Wigan’s allocation?!

Not attending this one due to family being at ours and not wanting to face the ire of the missus.
I'll probably sneak upstairs and watch a fair bit on the box though.
Shame though.. always a good day out is boxing day racing/footy/beer/curry

I assume that they haven’t released a couple of rows at the front to the Kop and A Block in the Main Stand?
If Wigan only take the 1,300 option in the Midland Road, that would depress the actual number of tickets sold as Barnsley and Huddersfield both filled the Midland Road and Bradford End.
I would guess this could be the third highest home attendance figure for the season so far.

North west virtually sold out, but two rows at back of kop now on sale
Strange they held these back so long, only about 170 seats

just been on the wigan forum- one post made me chuckle

'Humphries will probably miss the game as he is working on his biceps and Max power to be red carded after 20 minutes for excessive pointing :)'

    made me laugh
