Only 92 seats rest is standing
I can’t stand and am 60 points short of the first allocation. Therefore I’m gutted to say I’ll be staying home

Nope not me but it is very weird that this season we are selling tickets so early, almost forcing the hand of fans to spend money they might not have just before Xmas when the game isn’t for 6 weeks.

    Ridiculous decision financially.
I've purchased Orient, Mansfield, Huddersfield,Blackpool and Lincoln tickets over the last few weeks this is one step to far for me and I'm not prepared to spend again till late January I won't be going to the shit hole called Luton.

The point’s banding is high considering there’s an allocation of 6000.

Same mate, there’s been absolutely no thought gone into this by the club.
Many fans also travelled to Plymouth which was very costly.

Supporters complain all the time about the point system but without money it doesn't matter how many points you've amassed.
I chose to attend the Leyton Orient game over Plymouth due to other financial commitments.

100% correct. You could have the most amount of points but when the club are selling 5 away fixtures at nearly £30 each in the same month it’s too much.
What next? Sell all 23 away games up front at start of season and you get 2 days to cough up or they all go on general sale?

Again you miss the point Kevin. The fans with the most points have those points because they’ve chosen to attend many away games over the last 3 years and will continue to choose to attend.
They shouldn’t have to fork out for 5 away games with 2 days notice.
Could you imagine the outrage if the club announced ST renewals before Xmas and you have 2 days to purchase or your seat is released for sale.

You see the bigger picture loyal that's an observation I admire.
Football is nothing more than a business.
Clubs don't care how you get your cash
If you want the rewards in this case paying for tickets at any cost something somewhere is being put on a back burner till your next influx of money.
Classic example the club launched a premium collection of clothing £115 for a hoodie and while your at it dear customer buy one of several away tickets before there gone.
There's a choice alright but it comes at a price some simply cannot afford.

Annoyingly I’m visiting my old man in Henley on that weekend, and it’s not far from Luton. Obviously I don’t have any loyalty points - so can’t go?

I understand the world of sales and the whole time specific offers etc. but in the case of these Luton tickets, they’ll sell out no problem, there’s no need to sell them the day before Xmas and create panic and anxiety to fans fearing that if they don’t find the money now, they will miss out.

Given the distance and the early kick off, plus it being televised, I think this one will have plenty of availability for season ticket holders. It might even reach general sale.

We took 800 to Plymouth. No way is this reaching General sale and even if it did the point is the tickets would be sold out on Boxing Day leaving no chance for anyone to wait until they’ve been paid at the end of the month.

The Points system is an excellent way of ensuring that those who go to the most games, get the first option to buy tickets.
However it then becomes a clique, in that those who have the most points always get the first option.
Anyone else will have a limited, if any chance of getting a ticket. So the clique continues to increase its number of points and anyone else can’t get a look in.
I get it, that having so many tickets on sale at once could be very expensive, for those who go to all games, however it is a window of opportunity, for those who support City but can’t get to all the games and consequently don’t a very large number of points.
Perhaps a system whereby a certain percentage of seats are held back to ensure that people with lower number of points can get an opportunity to go to games wouldn’t be totally unreasonable.
After all, if the tickets were available to all City Supporters, then why would that be unreasonable. It could be limited to Season Ticket holders, to ensure that they weren’t picked up by commercial resellers.
Ironically I bumped into a City supporter, I use to go to school with on Saturday, at Brisbane Road. A bit like @Kevin1954@Kevin1954 he lives a significant distance from Bradford, and can’t travel up readily to Valley Parade. He doesn’t have a season ticket. However he tries to get to as many games as he can in the South East.
I see no problem in that. Sharing the experience of supporting City, doesn’t seem that unreasonable.

By tomorrow some people will tickets to 5 away games next year costing the best part of £130/40.
There is literally no need to sell them tomorrow. I doubt anyone would complain if these were sold early Jan, after all it's 6 weeks away.
We have one extreme to the other at times. The Carlisle play off tickets were held back till about 3 days before the game when people were looking to arrange travel and now we have the other extreme.

Was thinking the same last night, the points system rewards those who go regularly but also makes getting an away ticket somewhat of a closed shop as others have no way of accruing points. If not being able to afford a Luton ticket due to budget restraints gives someone else a chance of a ticket then I'm all for it. Well done City.
