Maybe a bit harsh on Joe and it was a strikers finish but it did alarm me that their little number 9 seemed to win all his aerial duels against Joe. That is his primary role at the heart of defence IMO.

 

What is it with us and set pieces? We never really seem to threaten from them.

Interestingly I think we look a lot more leggy playing once a week than we did when we played Tuesday /Saturday!

Was impressed with GA making the early change in the second half, started to get on the front foot more
But was trying to figure out who was alongside Power helping out?

Then the later changes when he brought Byrne and McIntyre on
and put the ex-pompey defender in midfield, has he played there before,like ever?
Had to rectify that choice and bring on Metcalf to help out the middle

 

Thought Joe Wright looked troubled after taking a bang or a header towards end of first half. Didn’t look too comfortable when the whistle at half time went and was down on his haunches for a bit before going into the changing rooms. I thought he’d got concussion again.

 

They are in a massive mess and it wouldn't surprise me if he was in the dugout on Saturday as Cleverley can't have many chances left, I refuse to believe that Adams has gone in with the sole intent of being the Director of Football and he will know if they need an caretaker manager he will get the job.

Their fans have turned massively on the players, manager and board so it is a very toxic place at the moment and the other good news for next week is Tolaj lost his head today and got a red card for violent conduct off the ball so he's facing a 3 game ban.

Who cares how we get them.
Nobody cared when we won a number of matches the same scoreline through January and February to build our points tally whilst aiming for the top 3 in League 2.
November and December is tough with league, Fa Cup and League trophy matches coming thick and fast.
Get to Blackpool away on the 4th January in the top 6 and recruit well.
Hopefully the gap opens up to 7th and we can get on the gas into May.
I'm really optimistic

 

In the run we were in the win was more important than the performance just to end that winless run, hopefully this eases some of the tension that was starting to build. I am glad we are picking up clean sheets as they were needed massively after the start to the season as we weren't going to keep scoring 2+ every game.
The start of a big run of league games until the start of January where we play only bottom half teams so a huge chance to pick up wins and if we do that the draws against the likes of Bolton, Stevenage, Lincoln and Barnsley are good points.

 

Scrappy performance. Lots of poor passes, weak clearances and too much panic.

Exeter are a decent outfit and with better finishing should have won today. 3 points another clean sheet and only need another 19 points to guarantee safety.

Sam Walker take a bow-some excellent saves today.

Sars also played well in patches.

A special mention to the ref-what a joke!

 

Great result, very underwhelming performance. The goal aside, the first half we were over run. Midfield was anonymous - I like Pattison but his end product this season has been relatively poor and aside of his pace and press, he’s been largely ineffective. Thankful we got the goal when we did (great cross and striker like finish from Wright) cause I’d have been worried how that half would have gone on without the lead.

Second half marginally better but in the absence of 2-3 fantastic saves from Walker, we lose that game, and perhaps fairly so.

Walker and both Wrights had good games (minus J. Wrights lapse of concentration second half!) but the rest well below par.

Ultimately the result is all that matters and it’s great to get back to winning again, plus kudos for the clean sheet (somewhat fortunate). We played better at Bolton and only got a point, but there’s much more to improve on this week versus last.

 

Don't think we need to worry about FA Cup matches m9.

 

Enjoyed that today, another great day out at VP.
Fairplay to Joe Wright for putting his head in front of them 2 shots, any prem player would have been on the floor in tears, nice finish aswell.

T Wright & Power also played well today but Sam Walker was immense in goal.
Brilliant 3 points from what I thought looked a decent side.
Now what time do I need to set off to plymouth next sat? 4Am? Stupid gane fir a 12.30 kick off

It's awesome being a Bantam at the minute.

 

We are out of the FA Cup so it has absolutely nothing to do with us.

We'll play better and lose plus the important thing is Baldwin, Sarc and Pointon getting more minutes to get back to their peak fitness.

 

I like him, but agree re today. Some of his touches, hold up play and ability to skip past players and unique to anyone we have in the squad. However agree he needs to learn to distribute better and he won’t get many chances to keep the shirt if he doesn’t improve his finishing - expected him to make the keeper work much more on a few occasions today.
