I don’t like animals being hurt. Obviously the two brain cells culprits won’t give one whether they are hurt or not. Needless to say the club should be contacted and these ppl should be banned from VP altogether.Very difficult to stop them getting tickets as ppl buy them then for whatever reason can’t go and they pass them on to these ppl who would not be able to match. However, they could just get themselves to Bolton and hang around outside causing bother, there is only so much the club can do.

 

Yeah true i feel T Wright gets scapegoated a bit too easily. He's still pretty young, as you say consistency is key and i hope he finds that and gets confidence from the manager showing faith in him. Still much rather have Tilt then Byrne on the bench though and Kelly nowhere near! There may be some games where GA feels like a bit more muscle and dark arts in defence - i.e Tilt - would be a better option but i do like what Touray gives in a back 3

 

Back to expectations. Not one of us would have predicted we'd be second place at this stage. We've played and beaten some very good teams and dropped points against teams we'd expect to beat. That's football. We can debate about individuals, tactics etc but the reality is we're in L1. Let's just enjoy the ride and see where the season takes us. If we can surpass the last game of euphoria in the last game last season then we really will be in dreamland!

Well some Bolton fans would disagree. They are saying if they finish above us they'll be promoted

 

On that point, i think in the part of the season we've had so far, we are seeing why Humphrys is a L1 forward. He seems to be able to put himself about, has a little turn of pace, has a decent touch at times, but his finishing is terrible. If he could score, he wouldn't be at this level.

His shot map so far for L1 this season. As it shows, he gets in positions all around the box and will have a go from anywhere. He's had 30 shots in L1 so far this season, 2 goals and 1 of those was from a yard out.


But compare that to his shot placed map, his finishing is far too central. All but 3 were in the keepers central area, of those 3 efforts, 1 went in and 2 hit the frame. Every other on target strike, the keepers barely had to move.


I wonder if we have anyone who specifically takes finishing drills at training? Seems the entire teams shooting boots have gone missing since Rotherham away in the league. Byrnes deflected effort at Stevenage and Pointons pen are all we've scored in a month.

 

I thought yesterday was a really good battling performance away at a very good side. Defensively we were solid and restricted them well. J Wright and Tourey immense. Draw a fair result although we could have nicked it.
We are 2nd in the league but in all honesty are probably punching. Great that we have players coming back and if we can keep accumulating points and strengthen well in Jan, this could be a memorable season.

 

When I was leaving there were two horses becoming very spooked by all the noise and people, I thought they were going to throw the riders off.

 

We are only a few quality players short of being a very good side. Cmon Rupp show us yer money...... were also must have some money in the bank from Newcastle etc lets see what our recruitment does. Every time I watch an highlight reel or a live game Tyriek Wright looks like one of our best attacking player?

Is anyone actually betting on the score predictions of The Voice. If so how much are you up/down? I vaguely recall someone say they were going to and any profits were to go to the BBU.

 

Yeah I was at that game as well on the terracing and then onto the fence at the end of the game.

Yeah, myself and @bantam65 are placing bets on @The Voice predictions and our own for each league game. So far between us we have won absolutely zilch!!! Not one of us has got a single score prediction correct!!

 

All you want to do is turn up watch a game have a few beers but no we have dickheads who are hellbent on causing shite whoever it is.

My lads been started on twice after a home game and his crime is getting the train from the interchange .......... fooking mongy twats if you put these twats in a field with oppo fans with no plod in sitw they would shit it.

I'm sure his shots have lead to tap ins on 3 or 4 occasions too this season as well. They're not to be discounted. Pointon nearly scored from this scenario yesterday. I always feel we are more of a threat when he's playing.

 

In my opinion we are punching above our weight right now. Hard work and a desire to press teams but somewhat limited at times going forward. I admire what Alexander has done and the method he uses with the squad at his disposal but as I expect Alexander already knows that we need a better calibre of player especially in the final third of the field.

 

Yeah i think the first goal of the season was something like that, cant remember if it was Sarce or Pointon but someone got one.

He might be one of those that eventually click, but he's 28 now and his career has a similar stamp at all clubs so it might be one of those things where finishing just isn't his strong point.
