Wholeheartedly agree. I did chuckle though when he went over after the slightest contact and the ref waved play on. The amount of free kicks he earned for us after getting breathed on was riduculos

He did plenty for us but today’s was his worst ever.

It's a hard one for the keeper, he's got to watch the ball, know where the goal is and make sure he keeps his footing all at pace and you can't do all 3 of them at the same time. There is an angle from the Kop behind the ball and it looks like it might curve away from him at the end as well as the initial shot looks to be going towards the post and ends up in the middle of the net. I don't think he was trying to catch the ball, I think he was trying to pat the ball down like most keepers do in that situation as it's the only option, it's impossible to catch and very hard to tip it over the bar.

We saw plenty of that 1st hand last year tbh. We even discussed it on the pub before the game and for me the irony the ref played on was not lost

Completely agree, in that situation it's always the keepers fault no matter how good the strike is. No keeper should ever get beat from that range.

My take on the game, two teams wanting to win, no dirty tackles to spoil the game. Great goal from them for the equaliser, here’s my take on why he scored. I think Walker was likely taking pelters from the Barnsley fans so he moved higher up his penalty area, caught in two minds as to if it was going over and was caught out of position. Either side of their goals and throughout the game we never got to grips with the midfield and we were caught out a few times. All in all an enjoyable game and I think a draw is a fair result.

I thought it was going in from very very early after it left his boot. If people want to knock Walker for not sorting his feet out then fair enough but his starting position was normal for a keeper with the ball that high up the pitch. Either way it was probably the most memorable goal I've ever seen by an away player at VP.

Back in late 70s i saw stockport keeper score from kop into city end. Mind you it was a force 9 gale.

Yeah I suppose the Scholes one is more iconic but that goal today was a once in a generation. I sometimes think those half way line goals can be over rated but that one today was unreal.

Blame Pattison more than Walker for the wonder goal. Weak as piss, fair tackle and goes off injured again. He will do well to get a new deal in the summer. Kid has legs made of weetabix.

Made of glass and why he didnt make it at Wycombe. Too long in the physio's room which is why he'll end back at 'arragate or York unfortunately
