    At least the BBC have stopped fawning over Salford now. It was getting very tiring and predictable.

    Since returning to the football league in 2019 BBC have only shown 1 Salford City tie and that was last year's against Man City in the 3rd round so I'm not really sure you can class that as fawning

    Perhaps it was ITV then but when they first entered the FL it felt like they were always a top pick for TV coverage where possible.

    Well the other half had his “testing” the water plan firmly in place. Think we had been on a couple dates when he asked me if i would like to go to VP on Boxing Day. I just said yes having no idea of the plan. I loved it the atmosphere and general excitement. He took me into the posh seats The Paddock. I caught the bug and that was it. So slightly different from your plan. Always a good idea to have alternative interests. We both worked before retirement so went to all the home matches and most of the away. Even if I didn’t want to go, I would never stop him. It’s his 78th birthday today, and we are both going.

    Anyone venturing down for this match, some pub recommendations with Cheltenham being a local place to me....
    Beehive and Suffolk arms, then on the walk to the ground the The swan and The Kemble brewery. All with decent food.
