With McIntyre coming in and doing well and Touray looking like a rock at CB, we’ve got quite the conundrum at centre-back when everyone is fit. Baldwin, Tilt, and Wright weren’t in the team yesterday and I honestly wouldn’t complain if any of them were in the starting 11 moving forward.

 

Would a fit Tilt get in this team? Pennington, Touray and Mckintyre all looking good right now. Good problems to have

 

Thought Mckintyre had a really good first game, what's happened to Joe Wright seems to have disappeared?

 

Nice to keep a clean sheet yesterday.

CB number 7 when all fit. Doubt he will be here come July.

 

Didnt even make squad yesterday. Concussion effected his form, looked solid at start then poor when returned. That said he should be ahead of Kelly so must have had a niggle perhaps.

 

Rotherham just 1 win in last 7 and lost 3 on spin. There for taking on Thursday so got to be looking at 3pts. Lincoln and Barnsley at home to follow. Imps will be a test....Barnsley shite at the moment.

 

Theres surely one curious eye on whether McIntyre could possibly become a permanent signing option. Not played much at Portsmouth and second loan, plus at his age, he’ll be hungry to play more games. If he's good enough, he’s a longer term option than the likes of Tilt (basing this purely on age) and looks a standard above Byrne and Kelly, so I’d expect he will feature a fair bit.

 

I believe McIntyre is out of contract in the summer at Portsmouth so we can certainly run the rule over him.
His defensive performance yesterday was excellent.

 

Making room by returning Touray to Wright's position would be an option to consider as well in order to fit Baldwin / J Wright or Tilt back into the side.

 

All our central defenders are contributing and it’s great to see. I must admit I thought we were overstocked in that department but obviously not

 

It's not like @banbrotam to completely overstate the performance of players.

Byrne was solid yesterday and potentially earned us the extra two points with a fantastic block but to describe a 20 minute shift against a pretty blunt attack as "superb" is just nonsense.

The whole back line, including the subs, were very good but they'll certainly face much stiffer tests when hopefully they will put in the "superb" performances alluded to.

 

Last season and the season before says one never has enough centre backs . Confirmed once again after 10 games this ?

 

And let’s not forget we would be playing Oldham etc if it wasn’t for Leigh’s second half performance against Fleetwood.

Bloke was completely anonymous, along with everyone else but because he recycled a clearance into the edge of the box somehow he completely ran the show!

 

True but i actually really like touray at centre back, he's such q good player. You basically get 2 for one with him@

 

Joe Wright is still building up probably in contention for the Lincoln game possibly Baldwin too if not the week after.

McIntyre was excellent but hasn't played much, so to get 70 minutes out of him was very good to see and with the game on Thursday he will hopefully be fit to go again.

 

He did bloody well against their big experienced lad Fletcher. I don’t recall him losing a header?

 

I can't call it tbh. I don't know if I prefer him at CB or left side. I agree he's been superb in both positions.
