I was listening to the commentary and don't remember them mentioning it, which seems strange if it was Power's 5th.

It presents GA with a more or less immediate man-management problem. We need Leigh to start on Thursday in Power's absence (I like Metcalfe, but he shouldn't be first choice, or not yet). However, GA can't let a public spat like today's go unpunished...

 

A really good win today after a lot of our players played at Newcastle midweek. It will have created a lot of fatigue with the travelling the occasion, then back to earth for a tricky game on the Saturday. A few of our players were not at their best but we ground out the result and to have 23 points after just 10 games is remarkable.

 

Good sounds like they cleared it up after the argument, grown men nothing to see here I’m sure it’ll be history come Monday.

 

Possibly but if a player is happy to be subbed then thats more of a problem.

GA will let him know whose boss but will be forgotten in a few days.

I expected a tough and not so pretty game today, coming so soon after the energy sapping night at Newcastle.

They looked tired in the first half, with so much sloppy play and wayward passing. Fortunately Blackpool were unable to capitalise and didnt threaten at all.

We were much more controlled in the second half and another well taken goal from man of the match Josh Neufville soon came after half time.

Cooky and Pattison were very good in their own way when coming on, as was Byrne when coming on later. The header he won when I thought the only time Blackpool looked like scoring was superb.

Very impressed with McIntyre, he looked very calm and assured and looks a great addition to the ranks.

Touray was also magnificent again, what a signing he has been.

Well done to GA and the lads for yet another home win and leapfrogging back over Stevenage who are also having an unexpected brilliant start to their seasin

 

He's done magnificent at left sided centre back besides his full back position.

Let's hope is something and nowt because arguing with you boss only ends one way, I though Leigh was average today but so were a few more, after the first 10 minutes the game was vey flat until Cook came on and created a couple of good chances Bobby should have done better with the chance that Cook chested down for him. the defensive header from Byrne late on looked a goal saver.

 

I don't think he is a Prima Donna but is immature as was illustrated in the post Fleetwood match celebrations.

 

Wasn’t pretty but one of our match winners stepped up when it mattered. what a signing.

agree the subs all did well today - Including Byrne.

far too many were off it - Swan, Pointon and Leigh especially, but ‘job done’.

Thanks, Idle. You've said everything I was going to. It's been a hard week with all the travelling and grinding out a result like today is what teams who go on to win promotion do. We can but hope. Brilliant start to the season whatever.

Not sure I agree but it was always gonna be a tough test for sure.

 

Blackpool looked to sit deep and fill the spaces down the sides and for long spells they did that well causing us to continue to pass and probe for an opening. Our movement in the first half was quite slow hence why we hardly caused them any real issues.

Luckily Blackpool are shit up top or it could have been a different result as they broke on us quite a few times with players over.

Neufville obvs POTM. Is he top scorer yet? He scared the living daylights out of the Blackpool defence.
I thought Metcalfe had a decent cameo as well. McIntyre was immense and just cramped up and was subbed off. Penno was a real rock and I don't think anything got passed him. Maybe showing Brucie what he was missing? Patto looked busy. Leigh was just off it a tad. Touray had a really strong performance as well. Once again no one less than a 7/10. Power was marshalling the whole team from minute 1.

We said at half time that game was designed for an Andy Cook to play with the amount of crosses we put in. He really did make a difference when he came on fouling and causing mayhem.

Today was a game we usually would lose but we kept at it and ground out a decent 3 points. What a week we have just had.

27 more points and we will be safe from relegation.

The beers are tasting good on a saturday night these days.

 

Hopefully that will be the end of it and we can all move on. If there was something more to it Alexander is right to downplay it in public and deal with it behind closed doors, it wouldn't do anyone any favours to make it a public issue. With Power picking up his 5th today will will need Leigh on Thursday.
